Can You Eat Nuts During Weight Loss?
During our hospital stay, it’s generally not recommended for dieters to consume nuts, not because nuts are bad, I can tell you that nuts can help with weight loss. This is based on many studies, including research that I have conducted myself: a small handful of nuts, 25 to 28 grams, can effectively reduce weight and lower cholesterol levels. The reason is that the fatty acids in nuts are beneficial to the body.

However, why isn’t it recommended? There are several reasons. First, most nuts sold in China are salt-roasted, and consuming these salted nuts can lead to increased sodium intake, encouraging you to eat more. Second, nuts are easily addictive – have you ever been addicted to eating melon seeds? You’ll keep wanting to eat them, and it’s difficult to control yourself. If you eat 80 nuts instead of a small handful of 25-28 grams, it’s equivalent to drinking two tablespoons of oil, which is detrimental to weight loss.

Third, many nuts currently on the market contain a lot of sugar, such as candied walnuts, which are added with oil, and many are paired with fruit preserves, which are high in sugar and can lead to insulin resistance.
Therefore, from these three perspectives, I would rather avoid eating nuts to reduce the cravings of obese individuals, which would be beneficial for them.
