183cm Xiao Zhan Weighs 130 lbs: A Critique of the 'Pale and Slender' Male Aesthetic
Hello everyone! I'm Dad Fu, a practicing physician, focusing on weight management and disease nutrition therapy for over 20 years. I hope my articles are helpful to you.
Recently, Xiao Zhan was exposed and criticized by 'The Procurator' magazine. In fact, Xiao Zhan is quite wronged, but for public figures, once they enjoy public privileges, they must also have public responsibilities. Xiao Zhan's reaction to his fans was too slow.
However, Dad Fu wasn't interested in this matter and, while reading a piece of news, came across an article saying Xiao Zhan claimed to weigh 130 pounds. Xiao Zhan is 183cm tall – that's a tall guy! How can he weigh only 130 pounds?
However, thinking about it carefully, it makes sense. In the past two years, many popular male idols have been tall and thin, or short but still very thin. They're thin and weak, with thin arms and legs. Because of my sensitivity to weight management, I spent some time collecting the heights and weights of several popular male celebrities, and I found that Xiao Zhan is 'fat' relative to them.
Kai Xu Kun is 184cm tall and weighs 114 pounds; Wang Yibo is 180cm tall and weighs 110 pounds; Liu Haoran is 185cm tall and weighs 120 pounds; Bi Wenjun is 187cm tall and weighs 115 pounds; Wang Junkai is 182cm tall and weighs 116 pounds; and Wang Yuan and Yi Yang Qian, although they are not tall, their arms and legs are very thin, and their weight is no more than 100 pounds!
After seeing the weights of these current male celebrities, will you still dare to eat?
Of course, some people might say that the camera exaggerates the appearance, so actors need to be thinner to look good on camera. Dad Fu doesn't agree with this.
Dad Fu worshipped Gao Kong Chen when he was young, he was also a tall guy at the time, even when he was young, he weighed 140 pounds, and you can see developed muscles when he takes off his clothes. Domestic actors like Zhang Feng Yi, who is full of muscles. It seems that the trend has changed now. Now, pale and slender young men are popular. This is what we call the 'male aesthetic era'.
From the beginning, Japan first appeared with a tendency towards a neutral aesthetic, and it was very popular. Later, this trend spread to Korea and flourished. With the influence of Japanese and Korean trends, our country has gradually entered the 'pale and slender male aesthetic era' in the past 15 years.
As entertainers, it's understandable to strive for fans' needs by dieting. However, as public figures, their influence is enormous. If you're 183cm tall and weigh only 130 pounds, your fans will see thinness as beautiful, and they'll keep getting thinner. This encourages fans to starve themselves and harm their health. When you promote thinness as beautiful, your male fans will also be influenced, leading to fewer masculine men in the world. The media and public opinion shouldn't promote this unhealthy aesthetic.

Life is difficult, don't put pressure on ordinary people's physiques, cherish what you have.
I have no prejudices about any of the celebrities I mentioned, but I don't like the current pale and slender aesthetic. I prefer male celebrities like Peng You Yan.I am@DadFuChatNutrition
