What Time of Day is Best for Exercise?
Try to find the best workout time? The fact is, it's all about your own schedule! Follow these tips to find what’s best for you.
Dawn, dusk, or darkness – when is the best time to exercise? Well, when is the time that's best for you, because the benefits of exercise depend on your consistency.
You may have heard that the best time to exercise is in the morning – to boost your metabolism or avoid unexpected interruptions during the day, which can make it difficult to stick with your workout. But if you’re not an early riser, trying to exercise in the morning might not work.
If your schedule is unpredictable, you may need to be flexible and plan for different times of the day.
If you find it too late to exercise for too long and can't easily fall asleep, exercise earlier in the day, or try less intense exercise, pay attention to more movement ways.
What’s more important than choosing the time?
To stay motivated, choose activities you enjoy. If you’re a social person, do activities that involve interaction. Join group exercise classes, join recreational teams, or go for walks with a group of friends. If you enjoy solitude, walking, swimming, or cycling, those might be more suitable for you. If you want to spend more time with family, find activities you can do together, such as a post-meal walk or a game of football.
There are many options, so don’t limit yourself – there are many fitness activities available to avoid boredom or fatigue.
You can do some activity at any time of the day:
- Walking, running, and jogging
