Thousands of Migratory Birds Arrive at Hulun Lake Nature Reserve

According to the latest statistics, currently the Hulun Lake National Nature Reserve gathers more than 50 species and more than 4,000 waterbirds, adding infinite vitality to the silent Hulun Lake protected area.
Hulun Lake National Nature Reserve Administration Deputy Director Dou Hua said that currently the first migratory birds in the Hulun Lake Ulan Nor wetland include black-necked gulls, white-faced ducks, tufted ducks, wild geese, gray geese, puddle ducks, green-headed ducks, khaki ducks, etc.
It is introduced that in early April, the number of arriving waterbirds has not reached its peak. It is expected that by mid-April, the Hulun Lake wetland will usher in the spring migratory peak season of waterbirds, and staff will further increase patrol strength, 24-hour guard patrol, and utilize the digital monitoring platform 24 hours without interruption monitoring, to ensure the safety of the bird's habitat. To ensure the safety of the migratory birds returning home, the nature reserve has increased the intensity of outdoor daily patrol monitoring, and at the same time, through carrying out bird protection activities and other measures, a bird-loving ecological barrier has been formed around the nature reserve.
Hulun Lake National Nature Reserve is an important migratory stopover and breeding ground for waterbirds. In recent years, the city has continuously increased its ecological protection efforts for the Hulun Lake National Nature Reserve, and at the same time, the improvement of public participation and the raising of public awareness of protection has significantly reduced human interference, making the ecological system within the nature reserve effectively restored, the wetland area gradually expanded, and the number of wild birds in Hulun Lake is constantly growing.
