Civet information diagram

According to the information from the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department, civets are mammals, a type of cat with a large and elongated body (body length 50-76cm). They have long tails, but shorter than their body length, with a musk gland at the base of their tail. They have dark spots around their eyes, white markings on their cheeks and foreheads, also known as 'white-nosed civets'. Their back is light to dark brown, and their belly is lighter in color. Civets are nocturnal animals, secretive, and avoid humans.

According to Hong Kong law, civets are protected as wild animals under the Wild Animals Protection Ordinance, and hunting is prohibited. Anyone who violates the law will be sentenced to a maximum fine of HK$100,000 and imprisonment for 1 year. (Overseas Net Yang Jia)
