Australian 'No Drink' Koala

Australia has many unique animals, and along the way from Sydney to Adelaide to Kangaroo Island to Melbourne, you encounter some cute sprites, and feel the joy of trust through their peaceful coexistence. Enjoy the happiness of freedom together with them.
Koala is also calledWombat, scientific name: Phascolarctos cinereus,A precious original tree-dwelling animal. Its English name 'Koala bear' comes from ancient Aboriginal texts, meaning 'no drink' (don't drink water). The Aboriginal people called it 'no drink' because they really rarely drink water, and they can get 90% of what they need from eucalyptus leaves.

I especially like the cute feeling of koalas. Before traveling, I saw media reports that Australia suffered from wildfires, and koalas were one of the most affected animals. I had a strong impulse to visit them and hug them. But when I arrived in Australia, I didn't see burning raging flames or koalas in the forest.
Finally, I saw them in Kangaroo Island's zoo. They were all chubby, with light gray or light yellow fur, messy and thick, with a body length of about 70-80 cm, a bald nose, large and round, and fluffy ears. Like kangaroos, they also have a pouch for raising their young, but the pouch opens at the back. It is said that newborn koala babies are only 2 cm long, like a shelled pistachio. They must stay in their mother's pouch for 6 months to fully develop.
Eucalyptus is a poisonous plant, which other animals don't eat, in order to avoid conflict, koalas only eat eucalyptus leaves, of course they will choose eucalyptus leaves with relatively small toxicity.

To avoid poisoning, in addition to having a strong resistance system that can resist toxicity, to avoid wasting energy, they spend about three-quarters of their day sleeping. According to the introduction, koalas spend most of their time in trees, almost their whole life is spent on eucalyptus trees. They only spend less than 10% of the time foraging, and they move slowly. The rest of the time is mainly sleeping and sitting. Look, they sit on the branches of eucalyptus trees, holding the trunk with their small hands (their forelimbs are very strong), and sleep quietly. When they hear someone speaking, they will occasionally open their eyes to look at you for a moment, then continue to sleep, with an attitude of 'let it be whatever it wants, I don't care'. Maybe it's because it's safer in the zoo, a little koala is sleeping on the ground holding a wooden stake, which is simply a cute toy.
