Xianju, Zhejiang: Wild Macaque Groups Found in Mountain Villages; Villagers Provide Heartfelt Care

On March 11, 2020, wild monkeys were foraging and playing in Dazhutang Village, Xianju County, Zhejiang Province. Recently, more than 100 monkeys were seen in the forests of Dazhutang Village, Xianju County, Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province, jumping and roaming through the forests, foraging, and playing. Local goodwill villagers spontaneously set up feeding points on the village slopes, placing food daily for the monkeys to eat, allowing the monkeys to live a 'life of plenty'. Little monkeys chase and play, cute and endearing, has become a unique natural ecosystem landscape in Dazhutang Village, attracting many citizens to admire. In recent years, the local government has continuously increased the protection of natural resources, and the ecological environment has obviously improved, creating a survival environment for wild animals, and rare monkeys have appeared frequently after many years. Dazhutang Village is located in the heart of Xianju National Park, with the most beautiful Thirteen Dungkong Valley, monkey groups and other scenic spots. Here, the forests are lush and bamboo seas extend, also providing a paradise home for the national secondary protected wild animal – monkeys. Under the protection of villagers, currently there are more than 100 wild monkeys living happily here. In recent days, many tourists have also come to admire, with monkey cubs zero distance contact. Amidst the green mountains and clear waters, animals such as monkeys, mountain goats, leopards, mountain sheep, hedgehogs and rare birds have their own paradise home. What's most surprising is that in the bamboo forest a few tens of meters away from the village, more than 100 monkeys are playing in the canyons and forests, and live and reproduce with villagers, happily and harmoniously. People come, monkeys don't get startled.
