Spiders are a common animal in our daily lives. However, a few days ago, Mr. Zhou, who lives in Huqiu, Anhui, discovered that a spider had been shot down on the cherry tree at his doorstep. When he looked at the picture magnified, it looked exactly like a human face.

This spider is what Mr. Zhou called the 'human-faced spider'. When the picture was magnified, you could see that its head and abdomen had patterns similar to a human face, and its length was about 7 to 8 millimeters.
Mr. Zhou said that he had never seen such a 'human-faced spider' in his rural area, nor did he know if it had any research value, so he took the spider from the tree.

The reporter observed that this spider was not like an ordinary spider, but like a crab, it could walk sideways when picked up, and when it was picked up, there would be silk at the tail, but it did not weave a web. Mr. Zhou's cherry tree at his doorstep was just planted this year, and the spider had been lying on the leaves.

Anhui Agricultural University Plant Protection College Professor Jiang Junqi told reporters that the spiders we usually see are generally mostly black, and their body shape is more than 10 millimeters, while the 'human-faced spider' has its head and thorax divided into two parts, the head and thorax bulge, and the color tone is green and yellow. The size of the body is generally 6 to 7 millimeters.
Anhui Agricultural University Plant Protection College Professor Jiang Junqi said: 'This type of spider should be a spider in the agricultural ecological system, it is aimed at the pests on plants, from the photos you provided, it should belong to the crab spider family.'

Professor Jiang said that these spiders move sideways, and the color distribution is mainly in the abdomen, some are on the back of the abdomen, and some are on the underside of the abdomen. The whole green spider will present a human face shape, which may be related to its pigment.
Anhui Agricultural University Plant Protection College Professor Jiang Junqi said: 'Under the green background, there is also a part that appears black or brown, and these two colors are not distributed throughout, but presented in a dot-like manner, which forms the layout of our five senses, so people will think it is a human-faced spider.'
These spiders generally feed on pests, which have no harm to farmers and fields, and can eliminate pests. However, as a type of spider, it has a certain toxicity.
Anhui Agricultural University Plant Protection College Professor Jiang Junqi said: 'For example, this type of spider is feeding on aphids in this season, aphids are animals, and spiders will secrete toxins or use their venom to paralyze the prey when feeding, so it has a certain toxicity.'
