Maine Cats Reign Supreme! Russian Woman Adopts Pregnant Stray Cat, Four Years Later 'Explodes' into 130 Orange Cats
According to a report by The Daily Star on February 13th, a woman in Moscow kept 130 orange cats in a small apartment in the city center, reportedly they all share the same mother.
Four years ago, the woman rescued a pregnant stray cat. Now, she owns 130 orange cats, nicknamed 'little soldiers'. The woman keeps these little guys in a Moscow apartment until neighbors reported to animal welfare volunteers, and people learned that so many orange cats were kept there.

Because of too many cats, a strong, pungent odor began to float in the hallway of the apartment building, causing neighbors to worry. Volunteers who received a complaint phone entered the apartment and were shocked to find more than a hundred cats roaming inside.

Volunteer Irina Medvedeva discovered these cats and said, 'These animals are in a bad situation, but they are cute. We found about 130 half-starved cats. These animals are in a bad situation, although their living space includes a hallway, a kitchen, and a bedroom, but because of the excessive number, they cannot live comfortably.'
Another animal care worker, Anastasia Soloviyeva, said the shelter has managed to house 50 cats. They estimate that about 80 cats are still remaining in the apartment.
Irina Medvedeva added, 'We have managed to settle some of the little guys, but about 80 are still remaining in the apartment.'
Currently, it is unclear why the woman kept so many cats. However, it is said to be closely related to the stray cat she adopted many years ago.
Now the shelter is fundraising with the public to house all the cats, and they have specifically set up a fund for this purpose.
