The leopard is reportedly about 8 years old. Earlier this week, it appeared in a sugarcane field, causing great panic among nearby farmers. In India,In recent years, with the reduction of forest habitats, more and more leopards have come to live in farmland, producing cubs, causing great security hazards to farmers' production work. Therefore, the local forestry department and wildlife protection organizations quickly established a rescue team of 5 professionals to come to the place where the leopard appeared,to capture the leopard and avoid potential human-leopard conflicts.

The rescue team carried various equipment, such as shields, sticks, tranquilizer guns, and traps. Because the leopard was well hidden in the sugarcane field, the rescue team had to act cautiously to avoid sudden attacks by the leopard. Finally, the rescue team successfully captured the 8-year-old female leopard alive by using 'food lure' after several hours.

Subsequently, the 8-year-old female leopard was sent to the Mannikodo Leopard Rescue Center. There are currently more than 30 leopards living in the rescue center.Among these 30+ leopards, some were injured by deliberately set traps, some were injured by falling into deep wells, some had physical diseases, and some were orphaned leopard cubs—they are all rescue objects. In addition to that, there are also cannibal leopard and injury leopardFig: The veterinarian and a rescued leopard at the Mannikodo Leopard Rescue Center.

According to Mannikodo Leopard Rescue Center's Mahas, many of them have been living there for many years, even some leopards have lived for more than 8 years.

Due to the influence of aging, disease, and long-term life in a captive environment, they are not suitable for release back into the wild. And for cannibal leopard and injury leopard, for safety considerations of people, they are unlikely to return to the wild.Fig: A fully grown leopard living in the Mannikodo Leopard Rescue Center.

However, the rescue center's 'well-being' of these 30+ leopards is 'good',

every leopard has its own relatively large activity space, and the staff will feed them enough meat every day. The veterinarian will regularly check the health condition of these leopards to ensure that their bodies are in a relatively good state. The just-arrived 8-year-old female leopard in the rescue center is in good health. Some cat experts believe that

if the time of captive leopard exceeds half a month, it will have a negative impact on its return to wild life. Therefore, leopards that meet the release conditions need to be released as soon as possible, on the one hand to reduce the impact of captivity on their behavior, and on the other hand to create space for other leopards in greater need of rescue.
