One of the Four Treasures of the Qinling Mountains (Pronghorn Antelope) Appears in Chang’an Village

Curved black horns, thick legs, and a body over two meters long… Recently, a solitary adult male pronghorn antelope appeared near the feeding pond area of Lu Zhen Jie Tang Village, Chang'an District, Xi'an, on the 210 National Highway. It has been leisurely foraging and strolling around the area every day.
Yesterday, the reporter drove for more than an hour to feeding pond area of Lu Zhen Jie Tang Village, Chang'an District, Xi'an, and saw the pronghorn antelope resting on a small hillside. The antelope was about two meters long, with a light golden yellow coat, and some parts were undergoing molting. The curved black horns made it look quite imposing. When it saw people, it was initially a bit timid, but eventually took a slow step and walked to the roadside vegetable garden, slowly and deliberately chewing on the leaves, and occasionally raising its round eyes to observe the onlookers in the distance.
Pronghorn antelopes are one of the four treasures of the Qinling Mountains in our province. Chang'an District's Natural Forest Protection Project guardian, Deng Xianmin, said that villagers often encounter wild animals, so their awareness of protection is strong. After discovering the pronghorn antelope, they reported it to Lu Zhen Jie Tang Village and related departments, and kind villagers specially set aside a canola field near the village for the antelope to forage. Deng Xianmin told reporters that this is an older pronghorn antelope. It comes to the vegetable garden to forage in the morning and afternoon, and rests in the nearby mountains the rest of the time. It only goes to the river to drink water every four or five days.
