Yellow finches are characterized by their bright yellow bodies, with brown and black markings on their wings. Male yellow finches also have a prominent black patch on their heads, while females and juveniles do not
Speaking of yellow finches, many people associate them with the idiom 'mantis catches cicada, yellow finch in the rear'.
