Jiaozuo Gains a ‘Bird Garden’! Take a Look – What Was Captured?
On March 23rd at 6 o'clock in the morning, several streaks of blue and white quickly flew from the sky, landing on the branches of a large tree. They looked here and there, then looked up and chirped happily, their voices melodious and enchanting, like heavenly music… It was the Yellow-billed Bluecrow, having continuously ‘air-dropped’ companions to the technical college for half a month, arriving at the campus from morning till night, unwilling to return. And not only it, but also its partner the Red-billed Bluecrow… Don’t underestimate them, they are all national ‘three-categories’ protected animals.

These precious birds,
were first discovered in the school’s garden in early March.
The college’s Party Secretary Wang Yuquan said.
At that time, he was on duty at the school at 6 o’clock in the morning and, after getting up for exercise, several streaks of blue and white suddenly appeared in his field of vision. What beautiful birds were these, were they protected animals, and why were they appearing in the school? After that, he consulted relevant materials and learned that these beautiful birds were Yellow-billed Bluecrows, very precious, and listed in the ‘Catalogue of Beneficial or of Important Economic, Scientific Research Value of Wild Animals’.
Upon hearing this, he told other teachers in the school, and everyone was very excited upon learning this, and they all started taking walks in the school’s garden during their duty times, hoping to have a beautiful encounter with the precious birds.
Moreover, after careful observation by everyone, there were many more discoveries.
The birds that came to the school, besides Yellow-billed Bluecrows and Red-billed Bluecrows,
included Grey-headed Bluebirds, Rose-headed Bluebirds, Warblers, Woodpeckers, etc.

It turned out that Jiaozuo Technical College has a long-standing school history, and the campus retains buildings from the 1970s and 1980s, and during holidays, the school has many vacant spaces, the campus is quiet and undisturbed, and there is no one to disturb it. In addition, the college’s environment is beautiful, with many trees and flowers, such as Laurus nobilis, Lilac, Pine, Japanese Plum, Chinese Privet, Palm, Orchid, Peach, Plum, Chinese Privet, Chinese Elm, Lilies, Orchids, etc. Especially in spring, Japanese Plum, Cherry Blossoms, Peach Blossoms, Pear Blossoms, Magnolia Blossoms, etc., decorated the beautiful campus; moreover, with the in-depth implementation of the ‘Four Cities Collaborative Innovation’ and ‘Civilized Campus Creation’ work, the college’s teachers and students’ awareness of civilization and ecology has increased, and the habit of protecting the environment and loving birds has gradually formed.
In recent years, Jiaozuo School has successively obtained honorary titles such as Civilized Campus, Garden Unit, Garden Unit and Provincial Health Advanced Unit. These are important conditions that attract many birds to come. It was just an unexpected surprise that Red-billed Bluecrows and Yellow-billed Bluecrows came.
Because it was a holiday, students had not yet returned, so the faculty members took pictures of these precious birds and pushed them to the public through the internet. This immediately attracted the attention of many teachers and students, who all liked and commented, hoping that these birds would continue to stay and accompany teachers and students, making the campus even more beautiful.
