Discover six undiscovered and breathtaking scenic spots in Qinghai – don't miss them, though they are small-scale!
Here is the travel experience of Lang Mao Line – welcome to those with interesting souls on the road.
It's often said that Qinghai is a paradise that one must visit once in a lifetime. There's the clear and pure Qinghai Lake, the 'Sky Mirror' of the Tekeze River (Chaka Salt Lake), which was rated as 'one of the 55 best places in the world to visit in a lifetime by China National Geography', and the bustling (Ta'er Temple)… Many tourists come here with great expectations. Besides these famous attractions, Qinghai has many other small-scale attractions that are equally beautiful.
1. Qinghai Devil City – Obo Liangya Dan
There is one of the largest and most typical Jadan landscapes in Qinghai. The most special one is Devil City – Obo Liang. It's like a magical world carved by nature's devil and god, with a series of peculiar rock formations. It's desolate and uninhabited, with endless desert, and the peculiar landforms have been sculpted over thousands of years to create the 'waves and expanses' you see today. When night falls, it has the most vast and boundless starry sky, which is truly shocking.

2. West Lake – Qinghai Lake
In Qinghai, there is a very special salt lake – West Lake – Qinghai Lake. This lake has a double-colored effect, with National Highway 315 running through the middle. One side of the lake is green and rippling, and the other side is blue and vast, with distinct boundaries, which is very magical. It's quieter and purer than Chaka Salt Lake, with flocks of seagulls flying in the sky, making the beautiful scenery even more vivid and brilliant.
3. Water Surface Jadan – Ussuri Jadan Geological Park
Ussuri Jadan is located in the vast and boundless desert of the center of the Qaidam Basin, and is one of the only water surface Jadan landforms in the world. Peculiar rock formations stand in the lake water. Whether it's sunrise or sunset, sunny or starry, it's especially beautiful, especially suitable for photography and appreciating nature. In the spring and autumn, you can see flocks of water birds and wild ducks here, so it's also called 'a thousand islands of birds' by tourists.

4. Tea Card Lake Flower Grassland
In the south of Chaka Salt Lake, there is a beautiful and lush grassland, where a gentle breeze blows across the emerald green grass, but it's famous because when the flowers are in season, countless flowers bloom across the mountains and valleys, competing in splendor, with patches of purple flowers extending as far as the eye can see, romantic and colorful.

5. Da Shibitan Emerald Lake
Compared to the famous Chaka Salt Lake, Emerald Lake may be less known. Here, the waves are rippling, and when viewed from a high vantage point, it looks like a 'jade' with various shapes embedded in it. The colors are green, emerald green, dark green and light green… Under the sunshine, the overlapping greens shine with a different color. It's also undeveloped and has few tourists, so it's even more quiet.
6. Nianbao Yuze
Nianbao Yuze has the reputations of 'Heaven's Garden of God', 'Eastern Sunset Reach', and 'Self-driving Paradise'. The majestic ice formations, the steep rock formations and 18 lakes all give Nianbao a mysterious veil. From June to September every year is the flowering season, and it's simply amazing to walk through the mountains and valleys covered in flowers. Unfortunately, the scenic area stopped receiving tourists starting in April 2018. Hopefully, it can reopen in the near future to allow visitors to enjoy its beauty.
