A Travelogue of a ‘Let’s Go’ Trip
A seemingly travel, in reality is not easy. But last June, I still made an absolute decision to experience the charm of Chongqing, saying 'looking at the scenery is better than listening to it', but I think it's not just about listening, but also about seeing, with a complex and incredibly excited mood, I prepared to set off for Chongqing.
Because I haven't taken a train for a long time, this trip chose a slow train, because it's not the peak season for tourism, so the train isn't crowded, and I can enjoy the different architectural styles and picturesque scenery along the way. I arrived at 7:28 PM, and it was raining when I got off the train. I didn't bring an umbrella, and I booked a hotel near Jiefangbei via Meituan. I clearly remember that after arriving at the railway station, taxis were relatively expensive (mainly to avoid being deceived), so I dragged the luggage box for several streets before, it was very difficult to find a car, it took about 40 minutes before a taxi appeared, and we rushed to the hotel in the rain, shuttling through the city's neon lights, I could still feel the prosperity and charm of Chongqing.
Before arriving at the hotel, I had a small episode, my mobile phone navigation said I had arrived at the destination, the taxi dropped me off by the river, I got off the car, looked at the scenery opposite the river, my heart was very excited, and I shouted repeatedly: Chongqing, I am here! Unexpectedly, what awaited me was not only beautiful scenery but also the Devil's Staircase. I dragged the luggage box step by step, the more I went up, the more nervous I felt, how could it be so difficult! 'How could it be?' At this time, the navigation reminded me to turn back, I turned back, and when I saw the crossroads, my neck couldn't help but tilt up, it was really too many steps! Anyway, I dragged the luggage box step by step, totaling three steps, when I was about to reach the exit, I was already completely soaked and out of breath.
After walking through the Devil's Staircase, I finally arrived at the booked hotel, the front desk was on the 5th floor, the price (120-300 yuan), with window/without window options, I booked a luxury double bed room, after the hotel registration, I took a rest and prepared to go out to find something to eat.
Part.1 (Eight One Snack Street)

Just downstairs, I wanted to find a place to eat, I didn't expect Eight One Snack Street to be right across the street, bustling and lively, 9:00 am was the peak time. A row of shops and a row of people, dazzling and dazzling, I don't know which family's snacks are good. First, I took a turn to take a look, surprisingly, it was really crowded! There are two kinds of snacks: the first is fried crispy meat (average price 20 yuan), and the second is grilled ribs (average price 30 yuan), both of which are snack-type food, and it's better to try them when they're popular. After eating, I went to a dumpling shop, eating salty dumplings to relieve the greasy feeling, a bowl of dumplings cost 7 yuan, I found it very delicious, it was different from the taste I had eaten before, maybe it had something to do with the soup.
Part.2 (Liziba Monorail/Jiekou Ancient Town)
Maybe it was because I was too tired from the train, I didn't wake up until 10:30 am, first in the hotel area to find something to eat. I spent a long time looking for a suitable snack, finally bought a corn, my God! Afterwards, I took the No. 2 monorail from Jiaqiao Station, passing through classic landmarks such as Liziba Station, feeling very excited while sitting in the car.

Next, I switched lines and transferred to Jiekou Ancient Town to visit, which takes 2-3 hours, entering the ancient town, the red color in view is very festive, the shops are many, the goods are all kinds of, especially the shops that make and sell hot pot base are the most popular, the service is efficient and the process is simple, choose a flavor - pay - fill in the address - directly send it (including shipping fee). After completing the consumption, I always walked along the street, selling glutinous rice balls, spicy and sour noodles, souvenir ornaments and so on, the ancient town's road has stone steps and ramps, which perfectly reflects the characteristics of Chongqing,
Part.3 (National 4A Scenic Area - Hongyadong/Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street)

On the third day, I slept until the afternoon, today's plan was also Hongyadong and Jiefangbei. Hongyadong, originally Hongya Gate, is one of the ancient city gates of Chongqing, known for its traditional Ba architecture and folk characteristics, it was rated as a national AAA-level tourist scenic spot. Because it's close to the destination, I wanted to experience the local flavor, so I chose to walk.
When I arrived at the destination, I realized that the hanging houses from bottom to top made me sigh, 'How did they build them?' But the next second I was still attracted by its beauty. I walked from bottom to top, passing through a commercial street with a one-story building in the middle, and it was mainly snacks, which could be eaten as desserts and snacks. After reaching the road, I saw a landmark building – an old house, Hongyadong is mainly built in its style. In the evening, I had to eat, and today I dared to eat hot pot, giving a non-mature suggestion to friends who don't often eat spicy food, when you first arrive in Chongqing, don't advise eating hot pot, and more importantly, don't eat too much to avoid the consequences! Someone will say: 'I don't like spicy hot pot, I want to say: the soul of hot pot is spicy, without spicy, is it still a soul?' I started to look for shops along the street, but the fact proved that good shops were often hidden in small alleys, and finally I found a shop with a 1970s socialist construction style, the tableware was all big clay pots, with five-pointed star patterns, which felt very warm and hadn't lost the feeling of being out of date. It was a good shop, and it had to queue! I waited for about 2 hours, of course, the waiting process also had various snacks, about 3-4 items, the per capita consumption was less than 100 yuan, which was much cheaper than the national famous chain XXX hot pot restaurant.

After finishing the dinner, I went for a walk, because it was already late, so I had to follow the principle of arriving at the time, I went to Chongqing's central historical landmark – Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street. Coming to the pedestrian street, it is suitable for girls to buy, but it is best to come early, the shop design and window displays of famous brands and luxury brands seem to be the same throughout the country, many shops have already closed, and it seems that only buying is possible - that is, to eat on the boat according to the level of the boat, the price is different, but still not cheap.
Part.4 (One Tree Viewing Platform)
One Tree Viewing Platform in Nanshan is the best viewing point for Chongqing night view, open from 9:00 am to 22:30, playing time of 1-2 hours, ticket price (peak and off-season) is different, there is a public bus to the mountain, the ticket price is 10 yuan (in 2019), along the way the scenery is good, in the evening the light show is more beautiful, if you have enough time, it is worth visiting.

The historic ancient city gate – Hongya Gate, it is said that hot pot was invented here, very suitable for the local climate! In recent years, Hongya Gate has been continuously developed, and a building similar to a ship has been built, which is very novel in shape, and can be remembered at a glance, currently the construction is not yet completed, there is not much to play, it is only possible to consume by eating on the boat, according to the level of the boat, the price is different, but still not cheap.
