Baihe Gorge
Baihe Gorge originates from Baiheba Shuikou in the northeastern part of Yanquing District, old county of Xidu, flowing through and reaching the Mǐyín Water Reservoir. It's a natural gorge with remarkably well-preserved original features, often described as a 'thousand-mile moving picture gallery', alongside Yongding River's Guanting Gorge and Ju Ma River Gorge, collectively known as 'Kyoto's Three Great Canyons'. Baihe Gorge is divided into three sections: Yanqing section, Huairou section, and Miyun section, totaling over 130 kilometers.

I visited in June 2016 for an outdoor activity, hiking the Huairou section, which was less crowded. The weather that day was fantastic – blue skies and white clouds meeting with green mountains and water, like a beautiful painting, bringing a sense of peace and tranquility. Looking at the sky was a rare pleasure.

It's also suitable for self-driving tours. In summer, you can have barbecues; in winter, it's a different landscape. Come explore the outskirts of Beijing to escape the smog and breathe fresh air! (Avoid going after continuous rainfall)
