Panzhen: Rural Tourism Brings ‘Sweetness’ to Villagers
The villagers of Qibin Town, including Shuguo, Xin Hu, Wangxu, Xin Hu, Qi Yuan, and Huangcao, tasted ‘sweetness’ during this year’s ‘three-day Qingming Festival holiday,’ with a total of 100,000 tourists visiting.
Qi Yuan Village is located at the foot of the west slope of Malingshan and has become a gathering place for many tourists due to its unique location advantages and hilly ecological landscapes. This year, it held ‘flower viewing + local agricultural products’ activities leveraging a 1,000-mu rapeseed flower field landscape, welcoming 30,000 tourists in just three days. Tourists wandered through the flower sea, took photos, tasted local agricultural specialties, had outdoor barbecues, and fished, experiencing the fun of rural life. The development of rural tourism not only beautified the village but also allowed more local residents to ‘eat tourism food.’ Villagers began selling their own farmed eggs, locally pickled specialties, and self-grown peanuts along the main road into the village.
‘Only when villagers truly see the benefits can the purpose of rural revitalization be truly realized,’ said Party Secretary of the Village Committee, Xue Song. Besides relying on the environment to attract tourists, Qi Yuan Village often holds a series of colorful activities using the ‘tourism + poverty alleviation’ model, encouraging villagers to participate and encouraging villagers to find employment at the entrance of the village.
In recent years, under the background of whole-area tourism development, Qibin Town has utilized its good ecology, beautiful scenery, rich rural resources, digging features, and activated private capital to form several influential rural tourism demonstration points, such as Wangxu Village Song Zhuang B&B, aviation industry, Xiao Yang Zhuang Collective District, Luo Ma Lake Specialty Aquaculture, Bai Cao Blueberry Base, Xin Hu, etc. Rural tourism has become this year’s biggest new favorite in the city’s tourism market, with an average daily tourist number close to 100,000. The five villages of Shuangxin, Bai Cao, Wangxu, Xin Hu, and Qi Yuan jointly created a contiguous rapeseed flower sea and aviation industry, which was loved by tourists.
