Spring Blooms on the West Plains: Hiking, Flower Viewing, and Culinary Delights
As for the West Plains of Weinan, I believe everyone is familiar with it. Nowadays, the West Plains is no longer the 'tofu and straw hat' that people used to talk about. The construction of various tourist attractions has greatly changed the West Plains, especially the construction of Weinan Botanical Garden, which is another great place to play after Weinan Peach Garden.
Weinan Botanical Garden is a comprehensive tourism and leisure scenic area that integrates flower and seedling exhibitions, specialty sales, themed boutique homestays, light luxury fine dining, and leisure. The garden covers an area of 3,000 acres, which is very large.

Walking around, I arrived at lunchtime. Today's recommended food is He Han Gang's black face rice skin, which is also known as 'black face rice skin' by Weinan people. As early as 1998, He Han Gang was traveling and selling rice skin at the markets. People would ask each other who made the best, and those who had tried it would say 'That black one!' Word spread from ten to one hundred, and 'black face rice skin' became a culinary symbol praised by the people's taste buds. Through conscientious management, it became a symbol.
Starting from some time ago, you could always hear people talking about 'black face rice skin' at food stalls across Weinan. And that black color was He Han Gang's.
'Black face rice skin' is made with Weinan's traditional specialty, persimmon vinegar, mixed with rice skin. The spicy oil is made with more than ten recipes, not greasy and not too hot, with a lingering aroma, and has 'ma, la, xiang, chun' characteristics. Warm medicine is also added to the seasoning, which not only smells fragrant but also helps with gastrointestinal health. I was fortunate to eat a bowl of rice skin made by He Master himself, and the aftertaste had an original flavor of rice, which was uniquely fragrant and delicious, and its taste was wonderful.
Continuing west, you will pass by an agricultural farm, Qin Yuan Shan Zhuang (Qin Yuan Mountain Manor), which is also suitable for picnics and outings. Our destination is Shifeng Mountain.
The poet said: 'Although the mountain is not very high, it is still elegant, and although the trees are not very tall, they are still lush. The cypress on Shifeng Mountain is emerald green, while other mountains are barren and desolate.' Some people praise Shifeng Mountain as 'spring, outings, listen to birdsong, summer, observe clouds and mist around strange peaks, autumn, listen to gusts of wind and pine waves, winter, admire white snow and blue pine'.
Continuing along the road, I saw the scenery on my side – vast areas of rapeseed flowers and the opposite mountain range covered in lush greenery. In a short time, the scenery will be even more beautiful.
