Our second day of self-driving tour was about to begin with a close encounter with our dream Qinghai Lake. Lanzhou is a very charming city, but this trip, it wasn't really our main focus. We couldn't resist the allure of Qinghai Lake! Early in the morning, facing the rising sun, we crossed the Yellow River and continued westward. Goodbye, Lanzhou! We'll be back!
The scenery along the way was gradually changing, with increasingly vibrant red sandstone formations appearing, along with more and more Tibetan temple monasteries perched on mountain summits. This indicated we were getting closer to Qinghai Lake.
8:00 or so, we had already entered Qinghai. After checking in at the service area, we continued on, quickly passing through Xining. We weren't planning on staying, our goal was clear – Qinghai Lake!
Just as we were about to reach Qinghai Lake, we encountered a toll booth. I looked at it and laughed! I told the toll collector, 'How can you be charging me? What's the name of your toll booth? Ba Du' ! Did you know me? I am 'Ba Du' ! The toll collector said, 'Where did you come from? So poor! Here we call it Doba! You, a barbaric person',I was furious and said, 'You say I'm barbaric? Let me ask you!'
Just kidding around, we continued on our way. Our car quickly drove over Mount Ruyi and across the Dongtang River. Speaking of which, these two attractions are already within the Qinghai Lake Scenic Area.
We drove along, chatting with each other and feeling excited. Finally, we saw three large characters – 'Qinghai Lake!' Oh my god, we've finally arrived!
Not long after passing that gate, Mom said, 'Isn't that the lake water in the distance?' We looked together, and a slightly darker blue was visible on the horizon. We couldn't believe it!
Sometimes people are like this – when a dream comes true, you can't believe it!
But reality is reality. The beautiful Qinghai Lake is right here, and that color is simply called 'Qinghai Lake'!
We soon arrived at one of the main attractions of our trip – Liangjian Scenic Area. Our Qinghai Lake journey was officially kicked off.

Do you remember this picture? I downloaded it before our trip and made a preview poster,We walked along the shore of the lake, and we accidentally discovered the place in the picture. I used my memory to take a few pictures, and when I looked back, the same scenery made me wonder why the differences were so great!
We've left Liangjian, heading to our accommodation for the night – Black Horse River Township,About an hour's drive, we arrived at Black Horse River Township, 12 kilometers along the Ring Lake Road, which is very close to the lake. My cousin stayed here two days before, but her hotel was very stylish and already fully booked. We chose to stay in the side hotel, mainly because it was close to the lake, and we could take a stroll in the evening,After checking in, we organized our luggage and rested for a while, and our family walked along the small road towards the lake,Qinghai Lake! We're back!
It's still that blue, it's still so charming!
Standing by the lake, looking back, the scenery is still beautiful, and our hotel is backed by mountains,On the lake's grassland, we happened to see two playful grass spirits, they were having so much fun together and didn't even notice us approaching, and when they realized we were there, they looked at us with the same concentration,The sun was setting on the other side of the mountain, but it left a dazzling rainbow,The sun set, and it's time for us to end our trip today. With the fading glow of the setting sun, we took our first group photo of the trip,Tomorrow we will be checking in to the Tian Shan Salt Lake, the legendary Sky Mirror will give us what kind of experience?
