Shaanxi's Most 'Regrettable' Attractions: Four Billion Spent Over Eight Years, Then Demolished

Nowadays, with the gradual improvement of people's living conditions, most people now pay more attention to their spiritual life. After having leisure time, they go out to see the outside world, take their families or friends on trips, which has gradually promoted the prosperity of China's tourism industry. As an opportunity, many unknown attractions have entered the public's vision, and they will receive a lot of tourists every year, and their fame is getting bigger and bigger.

However, not all attractions can maintain popularity for a long time. If something goes wrong in the middle or is discovered by someone, such as cheating and raising prices arbitrarily, they will face the consequences of being ordered to close down or be rectified. In severe cases, they may even be demolished. This is the case of Kunyuan Temple located in Han Cheng, Shaanxi Province, which was hotly searched last week.

Originally this small attraction was very popular locally, even though its construction date could not be verified, but because of long-term wind and rain, it eventually could not withstand it, so it collapsed. However, later a local mine owner generously offered to rebuild it himself. Immediately, the locals started to work hard, and it took a total of eight years to spend 400 million in funding.

In fact, from its completion in 2013 to its demolition, it has always been a very famous attraction locally, because of the surrounding mountains and waters, and the air is very fresh. People often come here to stroll and relax, and sometimes temple fairs are held. The scene was very lively, and the scenic area did not earn money from ticket sales, but was always open to the outside world. This is how its fame grew.

However, it turned out that this building touched upon illegal construction. In the end, the local departments could only demolish it, and stated that such things would not happen again. Initially, the local people also held opposing opinions, because they often came to the temple to pray and participate in activities, and they were unwilling to let it be demolished. But in the end, they could only watch it disappear.

This move also serves as a warning to others – do not build illegal construction indiscriminately, or it will be demolished according to the law. What do you think about this? Welcome to leave a comment below!
