Humanities Xinghua: A Four-Archway, Forty-Seven Plaques, and the Story of Xinghua
Located south of Daxi Lou (Four Tigers Archway) on East Street, it is very close to the Xinhu Museum and is a microcosm of Xinhu's long history and culture. The square relies on Ming and Qing Dynasty ancient buildings, with Impression Eight Characters Bridge and Daxi Lou standing on the east and west sides, featuring sunken plazas, ancient city moat sculptures, and landscape sculptures.

There are forty-seven plaques hanging outside and inside Daxi Lou, honoring outstanding talents and figures from Xinhu's history. The plaques are mostly inscribed by famous contemporary calligraphers and painters, which are considered artistic treasures.

Guan (archways) and lou (towers) are memorial buildings of a gateway type. In Xinhu, there are more than one hundred guan and lou built during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, generally of the four-column, three-door type or double-column single-door type, except for the Daxi Lou built during the Ming Dynasty, which is a four-column, four-door pavilion-like structure. It is two-story, with a double-gabled roof, eight corners that sway, and a 'Five Sacred Mountains' top, which looks very solemn and elegant.
