Aerial Shot of Lead Mountain: The Misty Clouds of Wuyi Mountain, a World Heritage Site, and Excellent Tea

Take an aerial view of Wuyi Mountain, where the misty clouds create a spectacular and breathtaking scene.

Wuyi Mountain is a mountain with a long geological evolution and development history, and it is also a mountain formed by continental internal orogeny, representing a typical geological example. Wuyi Mountain's highest peak, Huanggang Mountain (Yellow Ridge Mountain) is located within Lead Mountain. In 2017, Lead Mountain Wuyi Mountain was listed as a World Heritage Site, making it Jiangxi Province's first World Double Heritage Site.

The mountains are towering and the forests are dense, and the air contains a high concentration of negative ions. The air also has a high content of water molecules, thus forming a unique climate. The mountains are often shrouded in mist, with peaks frequently obscured by fog and appearing intermittently in the clouds, resembling a paradise on earth, and inspiring admiration for its charm.

Wuyi Mountain is also the birthplace of Oolong tea, known as the 'Queen of Tea'. The tea trees are mostly grown on hillsides at an altitude of about 1000 meters near the coast. The constant mist, unique high-altitude temperature, humidity, light, and soil conditions are very suitable for tea tree growth, resulting in a rich accumulation of internal components in the tea. In particular, the content of amino acids, fragrant substances, and other nutritional components is high, which gives river oolong tea its fresh, invigorating flavor and strong aroma.

River oolong tea is outstanding. From the Tang to the Qing dynasties, China had three iconic products that were recognized worldwide – Tang's silk, Song's porcelain, and Ming and Qing dynasties' tea. River oolong tea was the most dazzling golden thread on the Ming and Qing tea icons. (Ding Minghua's photo)
