Journey to the West’Three Beats of the White Bones’ was filmed in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park in Hunan, Did you know?

This is Xiao Yu's travel diary, with stops and starts, come and see Hunan with me.

Nowadays, a popular TV series can instantly turn filming locations into popular attractions, attracting tourists. However, when it comes to attractions that have been 'blown up,' 86th Edition of *Journey to the West* is undoubtedly the most famous. Despite numerous adaptations, the classic 86th edition remains unsurpassed, and it continues to delight viewers even today.

The reason why the 86th Edition of *Journey to the West* is considered a classic is due to many factors. During production, the entire crew traveled tens of thousands of miles across China, searching for real mountains and water sources. Many of these original filming locations have become famous scenic areas. For example, Guizhou Huangguoshu Waterfall and Xinjiang Flaming Mountain. So, do you know where the iconic scene 'Three Beats of the White Bones' was filmed?

The answer is – Zhangjiajie National Forest Park in Hunan. As one of China's most famous mountain-type landscapes, Zhangjiajie has already been on the travel lists of countless tourists. Before visiting Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, my impression was of stunning scenery – thousands of peaks stacked upon each other, seemingly best viewed from above.

In fact, as a three-dimensional mountain and water landscape, Zhangjiajie can be appreciated from both high and low angles, creating a variety of perspectives. In the 'Three Beats of the White Bones' episode of the 86th Edition of *Journey to the West*, the misty and rugged scene with a strong Xianqi atmosphere was filmed in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park's 'low-lying' – Jinbianxi.

Jinbianxi is a stream in a gorge, with dense forests and towering cliffs on either side, creating a quiet and secluded environment. Due to the sheer size and beauty of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Jinbianxi's scenery isn't the most 'prominent.' Many busy tourists don't make it here. Therefore, many people didn't know that this is actually the filming location of 'Three Beats of the White Bones.' We were surprised to find the 'Three Beats of the White Bones' sign when we arrived.

Visiting Jinbianxi mainly has two highlights. The first is to admire the strange peaks and rocks, with thousands of peaks standing tall, breathtaking when viewed from above, and another kind of scenery when viewed from below. Alongside is the gently flowing Jinbianxi stream, and the towering, jagged cliffs, walking through the gorge, experiencing the wonders of nature, captivating.

Jinbianxi's second highlight is the 'Sun Wukong' that can be seen everywhere in the gorge. Whether it's on branches, on rocks, on trails, or in the water, you can easily spot cute monkeys within a few steps. The monkeys here don't fear people and sometimes playfully walk alongside tourists. The monkeys in Jinbianxi are also a unique attraction!

So, have you been to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park in Hunan? What are your impressions of Zhangjiajie? Have you visited Jinbianxi when you were in Zhangjiajie? Do you know where 'Three Beats of the White Bones' was filmed? Where do you think Zhangjiajie is most beautiful? Welcome to leave your comments and discuss!
