Seeking Earth's 'Peach Blossom Source'
——
Historically, there was a place where people were isolated from the world, and when asked about the current dynasty, they didn't even know about the Han Dynasty, let alone the Wei and Jin Dynasties. We call this place 'Peach Blossom Source'.

Similarly, there are some places on Earth that have drifted away from the mainland, isolated in the vast oceans, allowing ancient animals to survive to this day. This episode focuses on three isolated 'Peach Blossom Source' places.

Red kangaroo (Macropus rufus).
Adult Koala
Seeing the two pictures, I'm sure everyone would say the same thing about their names: 'Kangaroo' ('Kangaroo'), 'Koala' ('Koala'). Which continent do they belong to?
One: The Australian continent
The Australian continent, also known as the Australian continent, is located in the Southern Hemisphere, the continent of Oceania. The Australian continent covers an area of 7.69 million square kilometers, which is the smallest continent of the 6 continents in the world. The Australian continent is surrounded by sea on four sides, along with the Antarctic continent, making it one of only two continents completely surrounded by seawater.
Besides kangaroos and koalas, the Australian continent also has the platypus (Platypus), emus (Emu), etc. as unique species.
We all know that penguins live in cold places, but do you know what the lowest latitude where penguins are distributed on Earth is? If I say the equator, do you believe it?
The 'Most Lonely and Most Beautiful Island Groups' – the Cocos Islands.
Two: Cocos Islands
The Cocos Islands, also known as 'Galapagos Islands', are a group of islands in the eastern Pacific Ocean; located on the eastern side of the Pacific Ocean, they are a province of Ecuador, 1100 kilometers from the Ecuadorian mainland. The islands consist of 19 islands and numerous small islands and reefs, with an area of 7,976 square kilometers, 1000 kilometers from the Ecuadorian mainland, across the equator. The Cocos Islands are a volcanic island, with many high mountains and rugged peaks on the island, so when the island was first discovered, it was called 'Scantada' (Spanish for 'Devil's Island'). Because there are many large turtles on the island, it was later called 'Galapagos Islands', meaning 'Turtle Island'. The Ecuadorian Republic then ruled these islands and renamed them 'Cocos Islands'.
Due to the influence of climate change and overhunting, the coral reef communities of the Galapagos Islands – this most precious environmental asset in the world – has suffered an irreversible disaster. Many marine and plant species have been extinct, and the latest scientific reports show that many species are on the brink of extinction.
Do you know where the nine places on Earth that are most like aliens? One of them is called 'Galapagos in the Indian Ocean'.
Three: Socotra Island
Socotra Island is located 350 kilometers south of the Arabian Peninsula, east of the Horn of Africa, at the junction of the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Aden. The island has been isolated from the mainland for 18 million years, producing many unique native animals and plants due to its long-term geographical isolation. 37% of the plants (825 species) and 90% of the reptiles and 95% of the snails on Socotra Island are unique to the island. In 2008, it was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for its many rare species.

In addition, the climate on Socotra Island is very harsh, and the reason for the dryness is related to the cold currents of Somalia along the coast, and the hot and dry climate also causes the growth of the most peculiar plants here. Socotra Island subverts all people's perceptions of 'normal' landscapes, and the island's scenery is as if it came from another planet or from a distant past or future of Earth.

Let's appreciate the scenery of Socotra Island.
