India's Most Luxurious Cinema: Able to Accommodate Thousands, Collective Standing for National Anthem Before Opening
India, in the eyes of many, is a magical land. As one of the Four Great Civilizations, India's unique regional characteristics and brilliant culture make every tourist who visits India fascinated. Wandering through the streets and alleys of India is like stepping into an Indian movie; especially in northern India, there is a city called 'Pink City', where you can explore numerous historical sites and enter the 'Raj Mandir', one of the 'Top 10 Most Charming Movie Theaters in the World'.
Raj Mandir, located in Pink City Jaipur, is one of the 'Top 10 Most Charming Movie Theaters in the World'. Raj Mandir attracts many tourists to visit. Whether it's Jaipur or the location of this theater, it's noticeably different from what we imagined. The buildings are mostly pink, and a romantic atmosphere lingers in this small city.
Raj Mandir is very easy to find. Our hotel is within walking distance, and there's a prominent 'McDonald's' right next to the theater. There is only one McDonald's in Jaipur, so if you can't find it, you can simply navigate to McDonald's. Raj Mandir has four movie screenings a day, which is much less than domestic movie schedules, because Indian movies are generally about 3 hours long.
It's impossible to buy tickets online here, you need to queue up like locals to buy tickets. There are only three ticket windows in the theater. We were already queuing up when we arrived. If it's a holiday, you need to come and buy tickets in advance, otherwise, you can basically buy tickets before the movie opens, because the auditorium can accommodate more than 1,000 people.
Unlike domestic cinemas, ticket prices here are divided into three grades, the most expensive is the luxurious box, about 40 yuan RMB, the second is the diamond box, about 30 yuan RMB, and the cheapest is the auditorium, only 17 yuan. We bought the auditorium ticket, and it must be very lively to watch a movie with more than 1,000 Indians.
To enter Raj Mandir, you need to go through security checks, and you cannot bring any food in. Of course, no dangerous items are allowed. Entering the theater, the first thing you see is a very spacious and bright hall. The hall is particularly luxurious, with pink walls, ceilings, and even the lighting is pink. If you didn't know it was a movie theater, you would think you had stepped into a ball.
Here there is no discrimination, as long as you buy a movie ticket, even the cheapest auditorium ticket, you can come here. Locals said that as a bottom-level person, this is the place they like most. Here there is no class distinction, even it becomes a place for venting emotions.
The hall is divided into two floors, the first floor is the auditorium entrance, and the second floor is the diamond box and luxury box. To be honest, there are not many Chinese tourists visiting India, and we only saw 4 people that day, which also attracted the attention of many Indians in the hall, and even staff members came to ask where the seats were and guided us to the seats.
This is the Indian movie theater, isn't it luxurious and beautiful? The entire theater has more than 1,000 seats, the top and walls are designed in a wave shape, and there is a red curtain in front of the screen to block the screen, it's like a stage play performance.
Soon, the curtain rose, and the Indian flag appeared in front of everyone. Suddenly, everyone stood up in unison, and the melody of the Indian national anthem suddenly sounded, and everyone began to sing the national anthem! Yes, this is the Indian way of watching movies, which is a ritual that must be done before every movie.
Besides this episode, a movie lasts 3 hours here, and there is a 15-minute break in the middle. During the movie, if you see your favorite star appear, everyone will laugh and dance happily.
I wonder what your first impression of India is? Have you been to India for tourism? Have you watched a local movie here? Welcome to leave a comment.
