Zhao Wang River Park Landscape Improvement and Renovation Project is one of the 52 key projects included in the economic and social development responsibility goals and regional central city construction. On March 16th, the reporter came to the southwest corner of the Zhao Wang River Memorial Hall Square, which is the site of the Zhao Wang River Landscape Improvement and Renovation Project. Workers were busy there, using excavators to plant trees that are difficult to move. Elsewhere, workers were watering the newly planted greenery.
According to staff, the greening of the Memorial Hall section was a pilot project, with the design idea being a micro-terrain enclosed activity space. The plaza is planted with an array of trees, with yellow pine trees lining the edges, effectively utilizing existing resources and minimizing the removal of original trees and shrubs. Currently, about 100,000 square meters of terrain have been leveled, 350 meters³ of green space has been created, and 350 meters³ of soil has been leveled. A total of 78 trees, including sapal, Nata oak, cherry blossoms, and golden female jujube balls, have been planted. A strip of large-leaved yellow pine trees and water lilies covers an area of 1834 square meters, and a lawn covers an area of 962.2 square meters.
It is reported that the Zhao Wang River improvement and renovation project covers an area of 2,246,744 square meters, from south of Yangtze River Road to north of Bei Huan Loop, along the east and west banks of Zhao Wang River. The project adopts four strategies: ‘new construction, improvement, renovation, and preservation’ to create a colorful Zhao Wang River Park landscape, forming ‘1 romantic sea greenway, 1 romantic cultural waterfront pathway, multiple themed parks, and N kinds of different experiences’ landscape effect.
It is understood that since the project started construction in September last year, currently, 5 pilot sections have been completed, with about 100,000 square meters of ground cleared, about 100,000 square meters of soil has been leveled, 660 meters³ of soil has been balanced, about 1000 cherry trees have been planted on the sea avenue, and about 1000 large-leafed yellow pine trees and water lilies have been planted. The foundation construction part has completed the foundation excavation and the station corridor framework foundation, and the electrical and water pipelines have been preburied to 50%. Next, the parking lot improvement will be fully launched, the public toilet renovation will be fully launched, the electrical and water pipelines will be laid, the wooden boardwalk and railings will be replaced, and the construction of the surging pool, pier, wharf, retaining wall, road paving, pavilions and other infrastructure projects. Basketball courts, soccer fields, badminton courts, and new squares will also be constructed. The project will also implement the planting of trees, shrubs, and flowers in the spring greening season, aiming to complete the project construction task before July 31st.
