Huang River Mouth Waterfall
Huang River Waterfall, a national level AAAA tourist scenic area, a national geological park. It borders Shanxi Province Linfen City Jizhou Town to the east, and Yihui Town in Shaanxi Province Yan'an City to the west, forming a common tourist scenic area for the two provinces. It is 45 kilometers east of Shanxi Province's Jizhou County city, and 49 kilometers west of Shaanxi Province's Yihui County city. It is 170 kilometers from the revolutionary sacred site of Yan'an and 350 kilometers from Xi'an.
The Huang River Waterfall is China's second largest waterfall, the largest yellow waterfall. In the summer and autumn when the water volume is large, the waterfall has a magnificent and spectacular momentum, vast and majestic. In January 2002, the Huang River Waterfall area was designated as a national-level geological park.

The Huang River Geological Park has a total area of 45 square kilometers. The park centers around the Yellow River, spanning both Shanxi and Shaanxi provinces. To the east, there is the Lüliang Mountains, and to the west, there is the Huanglong Mountain. The Huang River Waterfall is the core of the park, encompassing the Huang River Waterfall scenic area, the Knifepoint Ridge scenic area, and the Small Boat Cove scenic area, along with various natural and human landscapes. The scenic area is a shared tourist resource for Shaanxi and Shanxi provinces. Charging is done on the east side by Shanxi and on the west side by Shaanxi. I once visited and watched the waterfall twice, having seen it on both the Shanxi and Shaanxi sides, and this time I made a small contribution to the people of Shaanxi.
About 5 kilometers downstream from Mengmen Mountain at the Huang River Waterfall, two shaped boulders were seen in the riverbed of the Yellow River valley, standing majestically in the rushing river. This is what was called "Nine Rivers' Steps" in ancient times. Mengmen Island is about 300 meters long and 50 meters wide, rising about 10 meters above the water surface. There is a giant turtle sculpture on the island, and a large (Yu) statue is engraved on its back. On the south side of the island, there is a stone cliff with the four characters " (Wo Zhen Kuang Liu - Lying and Watching the Wild Flow)" inscribed in the early years of the Yongzheng reign of the Qing Dynasty by magistrate Xu Wenyin.

About 5 kilometers from Mengmen Mountain to the Huang River Waterfall, in this 400-meter-wide valley at the bottom, the river cut through, forming a 40-meter-wide deep trough. The Yellow River flows from the mouth of the waterfall and rushes down into this trough. The Yellow River flows at a speed of thousands of cubic meters per second after it flows from the waterfall. Because it was named "Ten-Mile Dragon Trough" because legend said a dragon's body was carved through it.

You can hear the roar of the Huang River Waterfall from a distance, which immediately reminded me of the poem 'Huang River Song' by Guang Wei Lan and's masterpiece 'Yellow River Big Chorus'. This roaring sound is the voice of the Yellow River singing.
When standing at the Huang River Waterfall, you cannot help but marvel at the wonders created by nature! The waterfall is located in the south segment of the Qin Jin Grand Canyon. The rocks surrounding the waterfall are mainly gray-green or light red sandy mudstone, which is easy to weather and erode. There are many cross-cutting cracks in the rock layers. In the Huang River area, the west bank of the Yellow River slopes steeply and then flattens, and when the water reaches the mouth of the waterfall, it is carved into a deep trough on a smooth bottom. The mouth of the waterfall suddenly shrinks to about 40 meters wide deep trough, forming a waterfall with a height of more than 30 meters.

The best time to view the Huang River Waterfall is in the summer and autumn when there is abundant rainfall. In winter, the canyon is frozen, and in the spring, the ice on the river breaks and "falls" ice crystals from the waterfall, making it difficult to see the spectacular scene. In the summer, it enters the flood season, and the edge of the trough overflows, forming multiple waterfalls.

In September 1987, Huang River Rafting Team explorer member Wang Lianan, riding a sealed container made of 40 car tires, descended down the waterfall, opening the curtain for human exploration of the Huang River. It is known as "Yellow River First Float'.'
On June 1, 1997, Ko Liar drove his car to cross the Huang River, creating the world's largest cross-distance car record, and was called "World's First Fly'.
