Maoming, Guangdong’s Most Promising New Attraction: Dubbed ‘Nine Bend Lakes Beside the City’ and Free of Entry Fees
This is a journey through Nightmare Infinity's Travel World, sharing my interesting experiences and observations.

Maoming is located in the south of Guangdong Province, southern China, and developed into a city built on oil since the 1950s, becoming one of China's three major oil cities, hence earning the nickname 'Southern Oil City'.

Besides that, Maoming is also a famous coastal tourist city, with many people coming here specifically for its island attractions, such as China's First Beach, Romantic Coast, and Chicken Island, etc.

Recently, a new attraction has emerged in Maoming:It is also known for its water, but not by the sea, but on the edge of the city; it developed due to its lake water being clear and multi-colored, which locals call 'the Maldives beside the city' or 'the Nine Bend Lakes,' which is Maoming Open-Pit Mine Ecological Park.
The Open-Pit Mine Park was originally an open-pit mine that made significant contributions to Maoming's early economic development. After mining stopped in the 1990s, it was abandoned. It began to be renovated in 2012 and has now become a park for local citizens to relax and entertain, and has also been given a beautiful name, 'Good Heart Lake'.

What's unique about this park is its multi-colored lake water, which changes from blue to green, likely due to varying water depths; there are fish in the lake, with depths exceeding 90 meters (many locals jokingly call it 'Deep Lake'), when it first opened, without fencing, many people ignored the danger and swam in the lake. Now, fences have been built, making it difficult to approach the water, you can only admire it from the shore.

If you come in the afternoon after the scorching sun, sitting by the lake, closing your eyes, and feeling the gentle breeze, it's incredibly refreshing; the blue of the lake water reminds me of the (E'er Hai) in Yunnan, the (Sai Li Mu Hu) in Xinjiang, and the (Bo Su Pu Lu Xi) in Turkey, combined with the white sand on the shore, it's like being on a tropical island.
There is a wide road encircling the entire lake, and in the center of the lake is a museum that introduces the park's history. The park is still under construction, and the supporting facilities are not yet complete, but the potential it shows is very exciting.

Travel Information:
Take bus route 10 from downtown to the final stop, the Maoming Railway Station entrance is also the starting point for bus route 10;
Parking lots are available near the entrances of the park, and you cannot drive inside the park, you can only cycle around the lake, it takes about 1.5 hours to cycle around the lake;
There are only a few small shops by the lake in the park, so it's best to bring your own water when you come to play.

Do you go on a trip to Maoming? Have you been to Maoming's newest 'internet celebrity' attraction, the Maoming Open-Pit Mine Ecological Park? Do you know the reason why the lake water has such a multi-colored appearance? If you have the opportunity, would you go to Maoming for tourism? Welcome everyone to leave a comment!
