Find a Place with Beautiful Mountains and Water to Live and Retire
City dwellers all dream of finding a fresh air, picturesque place to live in retirement.
This has always been one of the goals of our ‘Happy Retirement Home’.
Today, I’m introducing you to one of our ideal retirement places – Ningguo in Anhui Province.
Ningguo was founded in the Eastern Han Dynasty in 13 years of the Eastern Han Dynasty (208 AD), and the county name was aptly taken from ‘Ningguo, where the land is peaceful and the people are prosperous.’ It belongs to Suizhou City, and was established as a city in March 3, 1997.
The area boasts beautiful mountains and waters, with the majestic Mount Tiangye winding along its southeastern edge, and the Yellow Mountains extending westward into the area, creating a terrain of south-high and north-low, with layered peaks.
What attracts me about this place are the following:
1, Jiangnan Natural Scenery
It is a ecological health base, with original villages with green mountains and clear waters and picturesque, beautiful scenery.
We are going to the village at the foot of the mountains.
The houses in the village are no worse than those in the city.
The balcony has a picturesque view.
The interior is clean and tidy, with air conditioning and independent bathrooms, just like a hotel.
Standing on the top of the mountain, you can see mountains, scenery, and clouds.
When you have nothing to do, you can walk around in the mountains, which can exercise your body and relax your mood.
‘Green bamboo welcomes spring in the evening, clear and tranquil, the sun rises long. Sitting quietly does not spoil the fun of the room, a leisurely stroll brings the beauty of bamboo.’
Abundant Harvests
2, Hundred-Year-Old Seniors
Villagers drink pure mountain spring water every day.
They eat fresh, organic vegetables harvested immediately.
The good environment and natural ingredients have made the villagers’ age a mystery: You’ll see energetic middle-aged men carrying a bag of corn chatting leisurely, and you’ll find out he is 86-year-old grandpa after chatting for a long time. And you can see an 70-year-old grandma splitting a huge pile of firewood in the courtyard.
Here, you won't find many obese people; the healthy lifestyle plus natural, pure ingredients have created a dietary structure (with lots of seafood and vegetables) over the years, which has shaped the villagers’ healthy physiques.
3, Ancient Town Culture
Not far from the village is an ancient town, where the heavy historical and cultural atmosphere is still visible.
4, Famous Scenic Areas
Qinglong Bay has a forest coverage rate of 78%, and is known as ‘Level One Air Quality, Level One Water.’
You can take a boat to enjoy Qinglong Lake and admire the fishermen using sticky nets to catch fish and collecting traps to catch shrimp; you will be immersed in the lakeside scenery on both sides.
Jiangnan Road – 318
The last original ecological ‘paradise’ in Anhui, – Water Tingxi (National AAAA-level tourist attraction).
It integrates green mountains and clear waters, tea gardens, rare flowers and trees, strange stones and deep pools, surrounded by mist and clouds, streams and rivers, just like a masterpiece of Chinese landscape painting, and has great value for viewing and experience.
Shaxi Beach is a beautiful place on the Sichuan-Tibet Line in, and is a paradise for photographers and creatives.
Summer Nine Sky Silver Waterfall Scenic Area (National AAAA-level tourist attraction)
It is located where the Yellow Mountains and Mount Tiangye meet, with the Yellow Mountains' magnificent scenery to the west, and the West Lake’s beautiful scenery to the south.
5, Local Specialties
The local mountain nuts originated here.
There are also many tea plantations here.
We come to rural areas to live for health, fresh air, and safe food.
6, Strange Stones
Strange stones can be found everywhere on the mountains – they are all art pieces. Don’t pick too many when you go, otherwise you can’t take them home!
