Chengdu Residents Take You Around the World: Budapest, Hungary - Worth Spending More Time Experiencing

This time, Youpin traveled to Pest, Hungary, which lies along the Danube River's Danube Bend. This once-powerful Hungarian Kingdom is now a tourist destination, what surprises will it bring us?

Danube River Banks

Youpin's first destination is Budapest, Hungary. After arriving by plane, we took a taxi straight to the Danube River banks, costing around 20 euros. Public transportation is cheaper but takes longer.

The weather was great that day, the Danube River was calm and smooth, with many passenger ships and cargo ships on the surface. The riverbanks on both sides were full of European-style buildings and parks. The local people's relaxed and happy lifestyle was very charming, and there were also many tourists taking photos of the beautiful Danube River.

Chain Bridge

The Chain Bridge is the most famous of Budapest's many bridges on the Danube River.

Youpin strolled along the Danube River banks, and arrived at the Chain Bridge in the evening. Looking at the flowing river and ships passing under the bridge, it was a different experience.

The lion statues at both ends of the bridge are particularly majestic. At night, the illuminated Chain Bridge looks even more charming. You must not miss it. The Danube River under the lights, combined with the slight breeze at night, makes a pleasant stroll along the riverbank.

For the first night, Youpin chose to stay in Budapest's central district, which is convenient for visiting various attractions. We strongly recommend renting a car or hiring a car service, which can be directly booked on travel platforms, improving travel efficiency.

Heroes' Square

The next morning, Youpin went to Heroes' Square. The square is very large, with the Hero Monument at the center. The top of the monument is the Archangel Gabriel, taken from the Bible, and the base is supported by seven knights riding horses, which are said to be the seven early leaders of Hungary.

Although the copper statues have aged and become mottled, they are still very impressive.

In addition to the main memorial monument, the square is scattered with many columns and statues, which makes people dizzy. The surrounding area also has City Park, the Hungarian National Gallery, and the Hungarian Museum, which are all attractions in Budapest. These places have their own characteristics, and natural landscapes and artistic culture are all complete, which is worth visiting.

Youpin strongly recommends that everyone consider Budapest as a major highlight of their trip to Hungary, and arrange for several more days to stay.

Parliament Building

That evening, Youpin went to the Parliament Building, which is located on the southeast side of Heroes' Square, within walking distance.

The Gothic design makes the building look majestic whether viewed from close range or afar.

The interior is a typical office area, the ticket price is expensive, and you need to reserve it in advance. It is not recommended to enter for a visit. Taking pictures outside the building can achieve a great and elegant effect.

St. Stephen's Basilica

On the third day, Youpin continued to stroll along the Danube River banks.

When traveling to Europe, it is inevitable to visit the most distinctive landmarks – churches.

This church is located on the Danube River in Budapest. Youpin first ate breakfast at the Hero Monument, where there were many street vendors selling hot dogs for 2-3 euros, which were very delicious.

Walking along the riverbank for 15 minutes, you can see the church.

The white spire and colorful roof are particularly conspicuous. The interior has colorful stained glass and murals, which are very beautiful day or night.

Note that the opening hours of the church are irregular, you can browse the website to inquire before visiting. The ticket price is 700 Forints (approximately 16 yuan). There are discounts during festivals.

After visiting the church, Youpin came to the Fisherman's Bastion, which is a famous photography spot in Budapest!

The Fisherman's Bastion is located on a high ground, overlooking the entire Budapest and the Danube River. The sunset here is particularly beautiful. Because of this, there are many tourists visiting, and if you want to take a good shot, you need to come early.

New York Café

Budapest's last day, Youpin chose to sleep in and then went to check in the most representative coffee shop in Budapest – New York Café, which is renowned as the world's most beautiful coffee shop.

Although hidden in a hotel, Youpin still easily found it.

The coffee shop is full of sculptures and pillars, making it look opulent. The coffee shop is very large, but it is crowded during peak hours, so you need to queue. You can book through the website or ask the hotel front desk for help.
