The famous ways of China's famous mountains are diverse, with some mountains becoming renowned for their ruggedness and grandeur, while others are celebrated for their unique and beautiful scenery. However, the mountain we're about to discuss has a rather unusual way of gaining fame – it's incredibly short! Let's take a look.

When we think of mountains, the images that come to mind vary greatly for different people. For those in Sichuan and Shaanxi, it might be towering mountains; for those in the central plains, it could be small hills. Some mountains are famous for their height and danger, while others are celebrated for their unique beauty. But the mountain we're about to discuss gained fame for its shortness. How short is it? The highest point is only 0.6 meters above ground, which is the height of a newborn baby.

You can imagine how short it is! So, let's cut to the chase – this mountain is located in Jingshan, Shouguang, Shandong. Its longest width is 1.24 meters, and its width from north to south is 0.7 meters. It's high in the north and low in the south, with the highest point 0.6 meters and the lowest point only 0.1 meters. Therefore, it's considered the shortest mountain in China, and truly deserving of its name. Of course, many netizens expressed a surprising reaction, asking: What constitutes a mountain?

Jingshan isn't named arbitrarily; it's a genuine mountain. Beneath its surface, the mountain's area is vast and difficult to estimate. The mountains extend deep underground. Because of its long history, it's described in the 'Shouguang County Chronicle' as being 8 kilometers southwest of the city center, between Sunjiaji and Majia Zhuang, with a stone protruding from the ground, named Jingshan, and now a key protected cultural relic in Shouguang.

Why doesn't anyone dare to climb this short mountain? There's an interesting legend about it. Because Jingshan has a long history, rumors circulate that it grew out of the ground overnight, and unfortunately, when it emerged, it bumped into a woman carrying a baby, who then had an urgent bowel movement on the summit, and Jingshan stopped growing there, thus becoming Jingshan. People therefore don't dare to climb it, hoping it will continue to grow.

Of course, the legend is just a legend, but this legend is also a unique form of protection! It's a special mountain and a key protected cultural relic!
