The Most Underrated 'Attractions' in Lijiang, Yunnan: 5km from the Ancient Town, Best View of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain
Unconsciously, the Spring Festival is approaching, and the weather in Jiangnan is also getting colder, let alone the northern scenery of a thousand miles of snow. To escape this unbearable weather, I came to beautiful Lijiang with friends to play. Lijiang is a well-known international tourist city, in addition to the well-known Lijiang Ancient Town and Yulong Snow Mountain, there are many niche and small-scale attractions on this plateau land worth visiting.

Approximately 5 kilometers from Lijiang Ancient Town is the 'Qingxi Water Reservoir', which is not a tourist attraction in principle, but is one of Lijiang people's important water sources. However, due to its excellent water quality and the backdrop of the nearby Yulong Snow Mountain, the scenery here is no longer monotonous, but more original in atmosphere compared to the nearby Black Dragon Pool Park.
For those of us who are passionate about niche and small-scale attractions, I included the Qingxi Water Reservoir on my travel list before going to Lijiang. You can take bus route 3 from Lijiang Ancient Town to Qingxi Water Reservoir station. Compared to nearby attractions, there are very few tourists here, perhaps because it is not a designated attraction itself.

The Qingxi Water Reservoir is currently protected. Fences are set up around the reservoir and a smooth stone path has been built. Most of the local residents come here to bask in the sun or take a walk. There are almost no tourists in sight. The environment of the reservoir gives people a very clean feeling.

A stone monument is placed on the reservoir embankment, engraved with the words 'Qingxi Water Reservoir, Secondary Protection Zone' Water resources here all come from the ice and snow meltwater of the nearby Yulong Snow Mountain. Lijiang has several water sources, but the Qingxi Water Reservoir is the most beautiful reservoir I have ever seen.
The water in the reservoir is particularly clear, and the light refraction of the sunlight is particularly beautiful. It's not the same as the blue of Blue Valley. Here the blue is a bit deeper. When playing here, you must pay attention, do not litter, and do not throw stones or other debris into the reservoir.

There are also villages nestled on the hillside next to the reservoir, inhabited by generations who live and guard here. The villages are very quiet. We also encountered two elderly women living beside the village, they almost every day come here to bask in the sun or walk along the embankment, looking at the reservoir and the distant snow mountains, you can feel their love for this place through their eyes.
There is a stone bridge in the middle of the reservoir, spanning the reservoir and dividing it into two parts. Looking at the scene in front of us, we couldn't help but think of West Lake in Hangzhou. The scenery here not only has the elegance of Jiangnan, but also has the magnificent and majestic Yulong Snow Mountain echoing, which adds a lot of light to it.

To play at the Qingxi Water Reservoir, it's for the perspective of taking photos. The stone bridge, lake, dead trees, Yulong Snow Mountain, and blue sky and white clouds are all framed together, seemingly killing many scenic spots in Lijiang.

Walk slowly to the top of the stone bridge, a stone road extends into the forest. Here you can clearly see the water on both sides, one shallow blue and one deep blue. We spent almost 3 hours here, explored almost every corner of the Qingxi Water Reservoir, but except for me and my partner, we didn't see any other tourists.
There is also a park next to the Qingxi Water Reservoir, Qingxi Park. There is a pedestrian path in the park, and most of the residents who live here come here to walk and entertain. There are no outsiders disturbing, it's particularly relaxing.

There is also a wetland in Qingxi Park, filled with dry grass and trees. Under the blue sky and white clouds, it gives the impression of dead trees being reborn, it's a very original scene. Don't you know if you've heard or been to Lijiang and have any impressions about this place? Welcome to leave a comment~
