Louis Vuitton Launches 3 Limited-Edition Travel Guides: Barcelona, Morocco, and Saint Petersburg
Each spring, Louis Vuitton invites creative artists to design travel manuals for different cities.
Previously, Seoul, Los Angeles, Cuba, Rome, Biraghi and other countries and regions had been featured.
This year, Louis Vuitton has focused on Barcelona, Saint Petersburg and Morocco.
The ‘Barcelona’ insert is brought by French post-war and contemporary painter Marc Desgrandchamps, with figures and landscapes being Marc Desgrandchamps’ frequent subjects. He uses abstract color blocks to depict the outlines of people and things, often creating an effect similar to a photograph’s double exposure. His style is calm and imbued with a magical atmosphere.
The ‘Barcelona’ insert’s artwork is more ‘rough’ and realistic than the artist’s previous works, and the images are brighter – this is probably due to the sunshine in Barcelona.
Contemporary artist Marcel Dzama depicts the Moroccan camels and women under the starry night.
This Canadian artist, originally trained in art history, has a diverse style and subject matter in his work.
His creative focus in Morocco was more on the locals, and he conveyed a surrealist feeling within his Orientalist-style paintings.
The ‘Saint Petersburg’ insert is created by American fashion illustrator Kelly Beeman, who has created fashion illustrations for brands such as JW Anderson, LOEWE, and Tory Burch, and whose work has a high level of dissemination on social media such as Instagram. The ‘Saint Petersburg’ insert’s artwork continues her consistent fresh style.
Each insert in the ‘Travelogue’ series has a French and English version, and there are versions in other languages corresponding to each city, such as the ‘Barcelona’ insert has a Spanish version, the ‘Morocco’ insert has an Arabic version, and the ‘Saint Petersburg’ insert has a Russian version.
In addition to the regular versions, the inserts also have artist signature editions, which are only sold in designated brand boutiques, with a limited quantity of 30 copies.
