Peacock Sky – Memories of Yulongtan (Black Dragon Pond)

Huayu West City reigns supreme, Xid River Hidden Dragon emerges!
Pavilions and halls reflect beautiful ripples, flowers and trees flourish in potted landscapes.
The jade-green pool, carp swim red. Remembering Zhuge Liang's lingering trace.
The emissary of Eastern Wu lightly waves a fan, ingenious plans discussed with a smile.
Note: Ulongtan Park is located in Nanjing's Gulou District, at the foot of the Cool Breeze Mountains, with the north gate facing Guangzhou Road and the west gate facing Huoju Road, encompassing an area of 5 hectares. Ulongtan is beautiful, with scattered pavilions, halls, and towers, flourishing flowers and trees, a landscape praised as 'the crown of West City.' Zhuge's Temple is located to the southeast of the lake, along with historical sites related to Zhuge Liang, including Zhuge's Temple, Zhuge's Horse-Tying Place, and Horse-Tying Slope, all remnants from his mission as an emissary to Eastern Wu. Qing-era scholar Xue Sangen established Zhuge's Temple here, and Jiangning magistrate Zhao Gong erected a stone tablet on the right side of the temple, inscribed with 'Zhuge's Horse-Tying Place.' Today, there stands a gnarled ancient Yellow Pine tree, its trunk thick as a bowl, said to be the tree where Zhuge tied his horse.
