Unique Landscapes of Bangkok: Trains 'in the Sky' and Buses on the River

Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, has been one of China's favorite tourist cities in the past decade. The city has a well-developed service industry and emerging shopping centers. The Grand Palace, Wat Zhengwang, and other cultural and tourist attractions have left a deep impression on tourists. Besides, Bangkok has many unique landscapes, such as motorcycles moving on the streets like ants, trains winding at high speed, and buses moving along the Chao Phraya River.

Locals call Bangkok's elevated railway 'Sky Train'. These railways are mostly parallel to city roads, supported by high-level bridges, with stations built on the bridges. At busy commercial areas, there will be a station and entrance for passengers to get in and out. Many independent tourists visiting Bangkok will specifically go to experience it, even if they don't take a ride, they will take a photo from a distance.
Another special landscape of Bangkok is the river bus, also known as the 'water bus'.
The Chao Phraya River flows through Bangkok, dividing this ancient city into two parts, and the river bus is a major transportation tool. Its nature is similar to Chinese ferries and passenger boats, but its frequency is much higher. There are many more types of rides.
From Saphan Taksin station of Bangkok's BTS Sky Train, it takes about three minutes to walk to Central Sathorn Pier, where you can buy tickets and take a boat to the places you want to go.

The Chao Phraya River is Bangkok's mother river, along the coast are distributed the main skyscrapers and many historical sites, such as the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Wat Zhengwang, the Royal Barge Museum, and Wat Luang. The river bus ticket price is between 10 and 30 Thai baht, which is equivalent to 2-7 yuan in RMB.

It's best to sit on the boat at sunset, enjoying the scenery on both sides, the light is the most beautiful.

Bangkok's river buses are generally divided into three types: the cheapest ordinary river bus, carrying a large number of passengers, and is often taken by locals; the purely tourist sightseeing boat, slightly more expensive, passing through all the main attractions; and the chartered boat, which can go anywhere within the operating range. The price is between a few hundred to a few thousand Thai baht, which is suitable for small groups.
Bangkok is a city of a high international level, and there are many tourists who take river buses back and forth on the Chao Phraya River every day. During the tourist peak season, you often need to queue.

The total length of the Chao Phraya River is 1352 kilometers, in addition to flowing through Bangkok, it also flows through Thailand's historic cities such as Ayutthaya. If you can take a boat to tour, it's also a good choice.
