Wanming Group farmer Luo Rong introduced to reporters: 'After my director knew I had beekeeping skills, he repeatedly encouraged me to develop ecological honey raising. I went to my mountains to raise bees, without any investment. The bee buckets were made of hollow trees. As long as you do a good job of attracting bees, harvesting honey, and maintenance, the most time has exceeded 40 groups, now there are 31 groups, producing 120+ jin of honey, which can sell for around 8000 yuan. Before the harvest season, it has been booked by customers, in short supply.' Luo Rong is a registered poor household. To increase income, his son and daughter-in-law often go out to work, and he and his wife farm at home, taking care of his grandchildren. Besides beekeeping, Luo Rong also produces high-mountain tea, old-age pig breeds, and free-range chickens, with an annual income of around 300,000 yuan. Luo Rong is very satisfied with his current life.
'The ancestors of Wanming Mountain villagers were nomadic tribesmen, born with hunting and raising skills. To help the masses develop raising, he took the lead in registering and establishing a cooperative, driving 120 cooperative members to raise wild pigs, chickens, and bees. Xinping Village Party Secretary Wen Shaozhen said that in 2019, the honey and livestock raising income of Wanming Mountain farmers in Xinping Village exceeded 460,000 yuan, all of which had been lifted out of poverty.
