Cycling to Vietnam (18), West Lake in Hanoi - Best Dawn Spot for Check-Ins

Riding a bicycle to Vietnam (18), West Lake in Hanoi, the best spot to check in at dawn

I had prepared the alarm clock to wake up early to leave, but unexpectedly, the elderly men and women in Hanoi who danced in the square appeared earlier and rushed to the landing, without regard to our group of refugees, they let out the sound system and collectively began to dance social dances. Before coming to abroad, I only knew that Chinese grandmas had this hobby, I didn't expect Vietnamese elders to have such an interest in dancing as well.

Although the music was quite loud, the two sides seemed to have already gotten used to it, the refugees didn't get angry because they were disturbed, and the elders didn't scold because the venue was invaded. This harmonious and friendly scene was actually more touching, I don't know what the situation would be if it happened in our country

I suddenly had a doubt, everyone will get old, and after getting old, they will always find something to pass the time, maybe dancing is the best choice, after all, there are so many participants in both China and Vietnam, that means dancing may really be interesting

If my life trajectory is normal, will I also become a square dancing enthusiast in the future? It's just terrifying to think about this, but the future is who knows? Let's live in the present first

Since I can't sleep anymore, let's start the new day's journey

Pulling open the tent, stepping out of the tent, in the bewildered gazes and graceful dance of the elderly, I began to pack up. I've gotten used to being watched, so I'm not particularly awkward

Through wind and rain, the experience of roughing it, as long as you don't take yourself too seriously, it's just someone else's passerby, except for a little curiosity, no one will pay much attention to you

Looking at my fellow travelers who are connected by fate around the West Lake, they are still able to sleep soundly in this environment, I couldn't, so I left

My plan is to first cycle around the lake today, then wander around Hanoi, and finally leave the city to continue my journey

When the first ray of dawn came to the West Lake, I had already cycled half a circle around the lake on my little horse, at that time, there were also many local residents who came to cycle along the West Lake. The runners were mostly friendly, they ran past and smiled at me as they cycled

So traveling is really interesting, no matter where you are, as long as you have a good attitude, you can accept it, this is the meaning of traveling

A gentle breeze blows, the sunlight on the lake spreads around with the ripple of the water, the scenery is gorgeous, if I were to rate it, here can be a Hanoi morning viewing spot

I sat outside a temple next to West Lake to enjoy my breakfast, yesterday's bread bought in the supermarket, I didn't stay for two minutes, a Vietnamese uncle walked over and stopped next to me, he didn't seem to be going anywhere, so he just watched me smile foolishly

I don't know what he was laughing at, so I just followed him to laugh to relieve the embarrassment

The uncle probably realized that I wasn't a Vietnamese person, but it didn't prevent him from proactively showing kindness and talking to me. I don't know what he was saying, so I just continued to smile foolishly

When the uncle looked at my bread, I quickly took out a piece and handed it to him, and the uncle was surprised and hesitated before accepting the bread. Looking at the uncle's appearance and his state of being a vagrant, they were completely different, taking the bread might just be out of courtesy

So two strangers, chewing bread next to West Lake, were suddenly created

A young man and an old man, although they didn't have much communication, it was a good feeling

Leaving West Lake, I began to head to the landmark attraction of Hanoi's city center, Ba Dinh Square. It's a must-visit place in Hanoi

Ba Dinh Square is the venue for gatherings and festivals in Vietnam, although the square is about one-third the size of Tiananmen Square in China, but its status in Vietnam and China is the same

After arriving at Ba Dinh Square, I rode my bicycle around the square for a while, but unfortunately, I couldn't find a place to park my bicycle. It's definitely not allowed to park bicycles on Ba Dinh Square, and the guards kept watching me, which made it even more difficult for me to stay and visit the Mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh, his home, and museums

Around Ba Dinh Square, I found many foreign embassies stationed here, and the Chinese Embassy was not far away. I also took a photo at the entrance of the embassy to commemorate my first time traveling abroad and seeing the Chinese Embassy

When I took a selfie with my camera, the guards at the entrance looked at me with an unusual expression. I smiled at him, and he remained serious and puzzled, probably because he recognized me as a Vietnamese local, so he thought my behavior was strange

Just then, a large group of people appeared, they held printed leaflets and walked around shouting, I didn't know Vietnamese characters, so I didn't know whether they were a parade or an advertisement

I really wanted to go and check it out, this kind of humanistic element is also what I wanted to understand during my travels, but unfortunately, it wasn't convenient to cycle and I was in a hurry to go, so I had to give up. The most important thing when traveling abroad is safety first
