Venice, the Romantic ‘Water City’ – A Popular Spot for Couples
Venice, a globally renowned 'water city', this city has no land transportation; the only means of transport is by boat. In this unique 'water city', there's a particularly romantic attraction, frequently visited by countless couples.

Let's first talk about Venice's traffic overview to help everyone understand how the city's transportation operates. With 177 canals and 401 bridges, this city's vast waterway system is formed, here there are no cars, bicycles, or traffic lights, even the boats are designated small boats, and other transportation tools are prohibited.
And the attraction frequently visited by countless romantic couples is the Bridge of Sighs! The Bridge of Sighs is considered a must-visit attraction for anyone traveling to Venice. Built in 1600, the bridge belongs to the early Baroque style, with a house-shaped upper dome, but it has two small windows on one side.
Why is this bridge called 'Bridge of Sighs'? When prisoners were escorted to the execution ground, they would pass through here, and the prisoners would often sigh, thinking about their impending execution. Therefore, the bridge got its name.
There's also a legend about the bridge locally: a man was sentenced to death and walked across the bridge. According to the convention, the guard would stop the man in front of the window, and he would finally look at this world. But the man saw his lover and another man kissing, so the man went crazy and crashed into the window until he died. Everyone on the bridge didn't notice anything, and a pool of blood and a furious body appeared on the bridge.

Interestingly, there's also a saying about the Bridge of Sighs: couples who kiss under the bridge can have a lasting love, and the film 'Sunset Bridge' was filmed here.
