The Small Town of Wuzhen Revives Ancient Huizhou Life, Like Stepping into a Painting
In the morning, verdant trees surrounded the village with whitewashed walls and gray tile roofs, while wisps of smoke rose in the air, transforming into various shapes and dispersing, like a watercolor painting unfinished. Entering the Water Margin Ink Village, it's like stepping into an old Huizhou Grand View Garden. Before you is a world of ancient and charming beauty, a rustic theater, a school, and dozens of Huizhou ancient buildings, arranged harmoniously along the banks of a clear stream. The picturesque scenery of bridges and flowing water, the subtle charm of stone-paved banks, and the feeling of returning to one's childhood home. Standing on the bridge, gazing at the ancient residential buildings, it's like a beautiful and elegant black and white ink painting washed with exquisite detail.

When I arrived, it was raining, and I strolled leisurely through the ancient town, as if time had traversed a thousand years. The misty Jiangnan style, dreamlike Huizhou, bridges, flowing water, and people, whitewashed walls, gray tile roofs, and gray roofs. So many people's dream-like poetry and paintings. Huizhou's enchanting ancient buildings have stood for thousands of years, telling stories of a beautiful and intricate past, radiating the wisdom of generations.

The scenic area is themed 'The Life Before and After Huizhou,' focusing on Huizhou cultural experiences, with 'paper, ink, brush, and inkstone' providing the humanistic background. It has revived the original rural life of the ancient Huizhou town. Walking through the ancient and charming Huizhou buildings, a small stream divided the village into two parts. Following the stream, when the flowers along the road were in full bloom, houses were surrounded by ancient trees. This village, which carries the brilliant past of Huizhou ancient town and showcases 'The Life Before and After Huizhou,' integrates the elegant and quiet Hu culture with the pristine and quiet natural ecology.

Located in the shady Shanghekou, water wheels and mortars evoked countless thoughts of ancient times. Waterwheel Bridge, Yilaiting, Dilingzhu, 'Xiao Nanjing' Wharf, all contain countless historical stories. Returning Home Pavilion evokes countless love stories. Walking along the quiet ancient path through the city gates led to the town.

There are many shops along the streets, and what attracts me most is the wood carvings. Wood carvings are the most representative of Huizhou style. When you enter an old Huizhou house, you can see many wood carvings when you look up in the main hall. The exquisite wood carvings come from these wood carving artists. Watching the artist carefully remove the parts that were not carved. The wood carvings are rich in themes and techniques, and they perfectly showcase the charm of Huizhou ancient buildings in every corner, with various forms such as round carving, relief carving, and hollow carving.

I visited a wedding house, with a large 'happiness' character hanging in the middle of the living room, which decorated the entire room with a festive atmosphere. In the upper beam of the living room, there was also the charm of ancient Huizhou. In a group of buildings carefully carved by craftsmen, you can feel the charm of the flowing of time and the charm of the architectural culture. At this moment, the ancient theater rang with the beautiful sound of guzheng, which spread throughout the ancient village, echoing in the air.

I watched a tea art performance at Shanghe School. Beautiful young girls wore festive new wedding dresses and performed the art of brewing tea. The graceful movements made a cup of tea look like art. When that cup of hot tea was brought to you, the long-lost smile suddenly made you feel warm.

Walking along the stone-papped streets, the flowers along the roadside decorated the entire ancient town. Beside the small bridge, the lush camphor tree, the green grass and flowers all added to the beauty of this ancient city.

I walked along the street ahead, and in front of me appeared Lake Yanhui. Here, you can linger by the lakeside pavilion, overlooking the 360-degree panoramic view of mountains and Huizhou buildings. Or take a small boat and row on the waves, watching fish swim through the water.

Water Margin Ink Village, a village that takes you through time and space, a place that remembers your hometown longing, a picturesque origin of poetry and paintings, a place you don't want to leave.
