A person comes into the world, and from a young age, has a ruler within them. The ruler resides in the heart, measuring people and oneself; the ruler is within the body, accurately or inaccurately measuring. This ruler is called comparison, using life as a reference, measuring whether a person is humble or arrogant, simple or extravagant, glorious or shameful, successful or failed, good and beautiful versus false and ugly – it's all clear at a glance. This ruler is called a standard, guiding a person on what to do and what not to do, setting a scale. A person's words and actions are measured, revealing whether they align with moral standards. This ruler is called a boundary, regarding oneself, treating others, and handling matters – one must grasp boundaries. A person's actions are measured, determining what is appropriate, moderate, and suitable. A slight misjudgment can lead to a huge mistake. Life's ruler is everywhere, varying in length and form, unique to each person. When the eyes have affairs, the world is narrow; when the heart is at peace, the world is wide. Different values measured with this ruler produce enormous contrasts. Life has a ruler, society has a degree, a calm heart makes the ruler level, a clear heart makes the ruler accurate. When measurement and degree are perfectly combined, life gains direction, society gains rules, and the world becomes more beautiful because of it. Grasping life's scale, the inner world gains depth, embracing the vastness of the ocean, standing tall like a thousand peaks; with a sea and mountain-like mindset, no matter where you live, you can be detached from the mundane, free and comfortable, and effortlessly navigate. Scale dictates life, the inner life gains breadth; loosening the scale in your heart will allow the whole world to make way for you. Measure yourself, illuminate the world, calmly face honor and disgrace, with a serene heart, the road becomes wider and wider. On life's winding and uneven path, with a ruler constantly measuring and guiding one's behavior, one can always be in accordance with the measure, with proper boundaries, and maintain composure. Life's ruler is a compass and a fixed point. With it, one can live peacefully and happily, carefree and joyful for a lifetime.
