Less Counting, More Tolerance

Cultivation is not about pursuing perfection, but about accepting imperfection with equanimity. The practice of life is about using wisdom to understand the black and white of the world, and using a kind heart to achieve all goodness, and a compassionate heart to accept what cannot be changed. Cultivation is about forgiveness. Accepting slights from others, enduring hardship, and letting go of unattainable beauty.

You don't know how many steps it takes to achieve a goal. When you've taken a thousand steps, you might still face failure, but success might be just around the corner. Often, success is just a small distance away. As long as you focus your attention, face setbacks, don't complain or evade responsibility, every low point you've crossed will be a necessary path to the peak. Serious people change themselves, persistent people change their lives. I move slowly, but I never retreat!
True busyness isn't about being busy; it's about being preoccupied. True exhaustion isn't physical weariness; it's mental fatigue. When you feel busy and tired, it's not because of a loss of value, but because of excessive desires. Less counting, more compassion, knowing how to be content, and your mind will be at ease. Go with the flow, be at peace with whatever comes your way, and learn to let go, and life will be even more perfect.

Simplicity is a blessing. Suffering comes from being busy. When we chase wealth, status, and rivalry, and cling to gains and losses, we're only wasting our time. How much has the mountain nurtured life, and endured the ravages of time? Moved by the grandeur of the mountains, our minds are calm and peaceful; feeling the spirit of water, our souls are elevated, and vanity disappears.
