Spring Never Tardy
Henan's rural land is flat and smooth, and when spring arrives, the first thing to awaken is the pear trees, blossoming with pure white flowers, densely packed, looking like a snowstorm from afar. Getting closer, there's a fragrant aroma. When I was a child, there was a very large pear tree in our courtyard, which was very lively every spring, and people gathered to see the blossoms.
After going to university in Xi'an, the school was located at the foot of the Qinling Mountains in the suburbs, with a small river flowing through it. The locals called it the (Qinling River). As soon as spring arrived, the river swelled, and you could hear the sound of rushing water in the campus. When I first arrived, it was very novel because my hometown didn't have such a river and such mountains, so I often rolled out iron fences to play in the river with my classmates, picking up many stones until graduation before discarding them.
Spring in Nanjing always comes with cherry blossoms, and they bloom very quickly. Yesterday they were flower buds, and the next day they were fully blossomed. The wind blows them slightly, fragile and proud. Many students wearing Hanfu come to take photos, and many elderly people come to admire the cherry blossoms. Cherry blossoms are their beginning of spring.
Our old courtyard was demolished and rebuilt, and the big pear tree was cut down. My parents didn't feel sorry, because although the blossoms were beautiful, it didn't produce much fruit, it was just a messenger of spring lost.
