Xing Guizhen: Poetry/The Great Egrets Returning North

When spring blossoms,
The goose family begins its northward migration
They pass through thorns and cross rivers along the way
Maintaining an orderly and uniform formation
.
A curious child asks his mother
Why isn't anyone sending us farewell
Where did the cars on the road go
Mom reminds the little goose
Don't fall behind
Focus on flying

Rest in the forest at night
The child asks his father
Why can't we hear the gunshots
Dad tells the child
We are protected wild animal species
We no longer need to fly with anxiety
.
Someone abused eating wild meat
A plague was spread
They were confined to cages
Their self-made bitter fruits
It is karma
The child said
We can sing freely
We hope someone appreciates us
Parents cast a firm gaze
.
The beautiful melody of the great egret
Cutting across the sky
Echoing with the 'National Anthem' of Wuhan
Humans and animals coexist harmoniously
Restoring the balance of nature
