Elementary School Essay | Finding Spring

As dusk fell, I sat by the window. After several spring rains, there was still a lingering chill in the air. The small grasses stretched their stiff waists, and the flowers opened their blurry eyes. I looked far away at the willows by the river, their tender green branches, fine and delicate, like soft silk, bringing a sense of refreshing comfort. Unconsciously, spring water flowed abundantly, spring flowers bloomed brilliantly, spring trees sprouted branches, spring… is it here?

I couldn't help but rush downstairs. The breeze was gentle, and I walked in the garden downstairs, smelling the fragrance of the jasmine flowers, indulging in this beautiful and quiet night. Yes, the blooming of flowers represents the arrival of spring. Unknowingly, the spring that I missed has returned again.

Walking along the river, the gurgling water was clear and melodious, like a flower girl playing the harp, joyful and charming. I silently watched the wonderful gifts of nature, closed my eyes, and recalled the loneliness of winter, how much has changed!

Standing on the small bridge, I threw a stone into the river, the calm water surface was broken for a moment, creating shimmering ripples. The birds that lived in the trees were startled and flew away. 'The willows by the river sprouted new leaves!' I murmured to myself. I stared blankly at the leaves, the breeze rustled through the trees, making a rustling sound, 'This… is spring wind?' I came to my senses, 'It's a little cold!' I shivered, smiling at the swaying grasses in the wind. I looked up at the faint, elusive stars, a few stars emitted a faint light, I covered one eye with my hand, 'Are they stars?' I hesitated, 'But it's been a long time!' I reached out to grab it, 'Oh!' I continued walking forward.

Walking along this quiet path, it's not difficult to imagine what it looks like during the day. Delphiniums, peach blossoms, and frankincense tobacco, all kinds of flowers, were seizing this opportunity of spring to show off their beauty. The warm breeze carried intoxicating floral fragrance, truly refreshing. Perhaps there was also the murmur of swallows; butterflies danced; kites soared high, but these were just imaginations. It would be wonderful if I could see this spring that came silently during the day, in bright daylight.

I don't know when, the oncoming wind no longer became biting; I don't know when, the frozen world began to melt quietly. I discovered the footprints of spring, spring… truly arrived.
