Chen's Practical Taijiquan – 31st Form, Action 4: Double Block Method
Hello everyone. We will continue to explain the 31st practical fist of Chen's Taijiquan – Right Foot Insertion, action 4: Double Block Method.
Double Block Method.
I. Action Analysis
1. Eye Focus:
First, we continue from the previous action, the eye focus remains unchanged.
2. Stance:
The body continues to turn left.
3. Step:
Leg twisting technique remains unchanged, always left counter-clockwise and right clockwise. The step pattern remains unchanged, still a small circle step on the left side.
At this basis, the stance is slightly increased, that is, the overall spiral is slightly to the left. Note this point. It's not static, it's turning left, and its twisting technique will also change accordingly, pay attention to this small circle step step pattern, which is slightly rotating.
4. Technique:
At the same time, our technique:
Right hand continues to twist downwards, following an arc to the chest. Where does this turn to? The palm faces the left-upper-diagonal angle, the middle finger points to the left-front-upper-diagonal angle. Note the palm and finger positions are facing in the direction of our body.
At the same time, the left hand opens in counter-twisting, following the left outer-upper arc, when turning upwards, slightly twist downwards and then counter-twist (it's counter-twisting, twist downwards and then counter-twist) coinciding with the top of the right hand wrist. Maintain the palm facing the right-front-lower-diagonal angle, the middle finger points to the right-front-upper-diagonal angle.
II. Action Analysis
What is its purpose?
The opponent is upper-pulled and lower-swept – the opponent's left hand is pulled by me, the right leg is swept by me;
To resolve the upper-pulled and lower-swept, then the opponent adjusts their stance (the opponent originally was being pulled and swept, the opponent resolves it by adjusting stance), using the right hand to squeeze me;
At this time, I take their right hand with my right hand, and my left hand takes my left hand, pressing and blocking the opponent's energy to their chest.
Okay, that's all for today, thank you everyone!
