Should Seniors Over 65 Rest or Exercise?
Life is about movement, so we always suggest everyone to exercise more. Now many people have realized the benefits of fitness, so many people go out to exercise every day, especially the elderly. After 65 years old, they are retired at home without working, and they pay more attention to their body maintenance and exercise diligently.
65 years old and older, should we rest or exercise?
After 65 years old, the various functions of the body have obviously deteriorated, especially bones and blood vessels, which will age. Therefore, we suggest everyone to exercise their bodies, and through exercise, it is possible to promote blood circulation in the body, increase the elasticity of blood vessels, and prevent and relieve blood vessel blockage.
However, with the increase of age, physical fitness is not as good as young people, so when exercising, we must control the amount. Many people don't recommend elderly people to exercise because they are afraid of accidents during exercise. Too fast blood circulation can cause brain hemorrhage. Some elderly people also have cartilage damage due to excessive running.
If we adopt a resting approach, the safety is indeed improved, especially for those with not so good physical conditions, it is suitable to rest and not to do large-scale exercise. If forced to exercise, it may hurt the body. But not to be idle is not good, the activity of the body will decline, affecting the internal metabolism, accelerating the aging process.
In fact, whether it is resting or exercising, it has good and bad. We can combine them, doing small-scale exercise. We can choose some simple exercises such as walking and Tai Chi. These exercises are very simple and won't add burden to the body, while also getting exercise.
When 65 years old, elderly people should exercise with caution, such as when walking, don't walk too much, about half an hour, the number of steps a day should be four to five thousand steps, don't learn others to walk ten thousand steps, it's not good, it will drain the body. Elderly people exercise for the purpose of exercising the body, not to participate in competitions, so it's appropriate.
When exercising, we also need to pay attention to the condition. If you have a heart attack or other major diseases, it is not recommended to move, and we should rest. You can just take a walk at home. Other elderly people should pay attention to changing their exercise time in different seasons. Now it's winter, the temperature difference is large, so we should go out at 8 or 9 o'clock or in the evening, avoid low temperature stimulation and accidents.

In general, 65 years old and older, we need to consider the condition and not to exercise randomly. If you have a major disease, rest first, if the body is stable, then continue to exercise, but don't overdo it. Within the body's ability, exercise properly. Also, to increase the activity of the body, extend life, not just exercise, but also pay attention to reasonable diet and maintain a positive mood. Life expectancy won't be short.
