Why I Prefer to Be a 'Relaxed Fitness Enthusiast'
Preface:
Starting in 2011, it's now 2020. When people ask me how long I've been working out, I usually say I'm just getting started, haven't been training for long. I'm afraid to admit the real time, people will say, you've been training for so long, yet you're still so 'unfit.' Because I'm a laid-back fitness enthusiast.
Today I'm going to share how to be a laid-back fitness enthusiast, allowing you to maintain a longer-term fitness journey.
Why choose a laid-back fitness approach?
When I first started working out, like most people, I was experimenting, learning, and gradually seeing my changes, which boosted my confidence, eventually transforming into a genuine love for it, and I had a relatively loose desire for a figure that isa figure with a moderate width and lines.
However, as fitness deepened, my aesthetic changed, and I felt that a smaller width was 'weak,' so I gradually longed for a larger width. But building a large width isn't easy; it requires a lot of time, money, and energy. I often find myself thinking, 'I should be working on my chest today,' or 'my back.' Often, due to work overtime, I have no time to exercise, which makes me frustrated.
I see friends eating out, and the tables are filled with things other than dishes – it's carbohydrates, protein, and fat. I've also been ridiculed by friends for my fitness opinions.
I gradually realized that, for me, it's difficult to balance fitness and life. Excessive enthusiasm actually brings me more pressure, which isn't caused by fitness itself, but by life's pressure. I chose to compromise with life.
Choosing a laid-back fitness approach, returning to the essence of fitness
In fact, for most people, fitness is simply a pursuit of a healthy lifestyle or a casual hobby.
If you assign too much significance to fitness, you'll feel a lot of invisible pressure.
Diet: This shouldn't be eaten, and that shouldn't be eaten (we don't talk about competitive bodybuilders – there's no need to force ourselves). Even competitive bodybuilders don't follow such strict diets during non-competition periods.
Exercise: Always focus on the principle of gradual progressive overload to get stronger. Constantly thinking about how to break through 120kg on bench press, 150kg on squats, etc. I fill my training plan with everything.
Lifestyle: Allocate sufficient time to fitness, and if you don't have enough time, you'll feel like you haven't trained properly. If you don't have time to train, you'll feel even more frustrated.
A 'water-quality' fitness enthusiast, exhausting herself more than a professional athlete,

What are the benefits of a laid-back fitness approach?
1: It's easier to stick with it. Fitness is a pursuit of health and happiness. If you don't feel like training one day, just relax—don't put as much pressure on yourself like competitive bodybuilders. This way, you'll enjoy the joy of movement instead of associating it with painful memories,
2: Better life. Fitness is just one part of life, not the whole thing. Family, friends, work, and life all need our time and care.
3: Better maintenance of physique. We don't need to train like competitive bodybuilders to develop extremely large muscles or achieve very low body fat. When we have a good physique, we just maintain it.Unlimited pursuit, from the initial vision of arm circumference of 34 inches, dreaming of eventually exceeding 38 and 40 inches. What happens if I fall back to 38 inches when I exceed 40?
4: Prevent injuries. Don't try to increase bench press records or pursue larger widths, and risk causing injuries by lifting heavy weights.
A laid-back fitness approach is not an excuse, and it's the result of a chosen lifestyle,Most people find it difficult, or simply lack the time and regular conditions to dedicate to training. So, choosing a fitness approach that we can sustain over the long term is the best way to go.
Fitness comes in many forms. Broadly speaking, fitness encompasses any activity aimed at achieving health—including strength training with weights at the gym. Outdoor running, basketball, soccer, etc., all fall under the category of fitness. Fitness goals are diverse, ranging from muscle hypertrophy, strength, speed bursts, coordination, or a balance of all these. Find the target you love the most and stick with it.
Especially highlighted: a laid-back fitness approach is based on a lifestyle chosen out of necessity and a lifestyle choice—it's not an excuse to avoid it, nor is it a reason to indulge. You can't say that your laid-back fitness approach is just training once a month, or even once a year. A laid-back fitness approach should be in our limited conditions, aiming for a balance between fitness and life.
Summary: Fitness is a lifestyle choice. For most people, it shouldn't be about who is the strongest, but who can stick with it longest—who can maintain this healthy lifestyle.
