Visualization Technique for Guaranteed Success: Stop Exhausting Yourself!

Yoga, since its introduction from India, has been widely accepted by modern people and considered a relatively advanced self-cultivation technique, dominating various training courses.

Our unit organized activities for the Third of May, as a welfare project for female employees, specifically hiring teachers to teach yoga classes. It cost 200,000 yuan for each class lasting half a month.

Meditation is often mentioned by various media as a cultivation technique, and most people can obtain physical relaxation and spiritual nourishment through 10 minutes of meditation.

Modern life is so fast-paced that it's difficult for us to even spare 10 minutes to sit and meditate, let alone practice yoga. However, a small exercise that can be done anytime, anywhere, can help us quickly gain mental energy – it's mindful breathing.

Whenever and wherever you realize you need to pay attention to your breathing, start consciously performing deep breathing. Try to lengthen both inhalation and exhalation as much as possible, but don't make it unbearable. Also, pay attention to the temperature of the air during inhalation, the coolness of the respiratory tract, and the fullness of the abdomen. During exhalation, notice the warmth of the gas, the emptiness of the abdomen. You can practice for a few minutes before and after work, before bed, or after waking up, and you can immediately feel the energy of the body recovering, and your eyes will start to feel the surrounding things become brighter and more vivid.

There's also a study about speech skills. When preparing an important speech, whether it's a work report or a competitive report, you can imagine the scene in your mind and practice delivering the report in that setting, feeling your tone and pace, and imagining the judges' expressions and reactions. After practicing a few times, you'll have sufficient preparation for the scene you're about to face, allowing you to fully unleash your personal abilities and speech skills and achieve success.

This 'lying down to win' mental imagery also applies to ball sports, such as badminton, basketball, soccer, pool, and golf – any ball sport that you can correctly understand and apply, you can practice repeatedly in your mind. During your imagination, your brain has already built bridges between the relevant neurons, solidifying this movement memory in your brain, just as if you had actually practiced it many times. Next time you play the sport, your brain can directly call up the relevant circuits and use them freely.

You can also practice English by imagining conversations with imaginary foreigners using the dialogues you've learned in textbooks, and by mentally shouting out the English words and sentences you want to say, using word shapes and sounds together to strengthen memory – without actually saying them out loud, you can effectively practice English.

You might think that mental imagery can 'lie down and win' so much, why do we need to exhaust ourselves by practicing relentlessly? I want to say that's because you haven't truly built a scene. When you seriously construct a scene and immerse yourself in it while practicing mental imagery, it's also very brain-intensive!

As someone once said: the body and mind must have one on the road! The original intention was that people should often travel and read. But it's more appropriate here: to minimize physical suffering, your mind must be well-trained.
