As a person from Hebei, I feel like the dishes I eat every day are just a repetitive cycle—eggplant, Chinese broccoli, zucchini, cucumber, green beans, tomatoes, potatoes, celery, bell peppers, carrots, and mushrooms… I start to feel anxious about what to eat around lunchtime, and even before I finish my breakfast, I'm already thinking about what to eat at noon.
Every day, our lunch is just noodles with sauce, noodles with ingredients, pancakes with ingredients, rice, and dumplings – we go back and forth repeating these dishes.
