Moutai Town: Home to One of the World’s Three Distilled Wines, Moutai, Reveals Unseen Scenery
Renwei is recognized as ‘the hometown of Chinese wine’ in 2004, renowned both domestically and internationally for its Moutai.
Moutai wine is alongside Scotch whisky and French cognac listed as one of the world’s three distilled wines. Moutai wine has an 800-year brewing history, with a rich aroma and endless aftertaste. We use our noses to carefully savor the aroma of the wine. This aroma is the accumulation of brewing techniques in the long river of history. Feeling this emotion, it’s worth a trip to the original hometown of Moutai wine, Renwei.
In Renwei’s Moutai Ancient Town, everywhere you go is wine culture. Carrying a small bag, you walk along the dense wine-scented alleyways, with red lanterns hanging from the eaves. Local residents can make a living from this characteristic, and you can see elderly people with weathered hands and countless calluses using spoons to make and sell wine. Moutai Town is different from other fake towns with commercial elements; it’s truly rustic and ancient, providing tourists with the best ecological experience.
Renwei is located in the northwest of Guizhou, at the transition zone between the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau and the Sichuan Basin. The ‘Chashui River’ flows through the spirit of the Red Army during the Anti-Japanese War, leaving traces of the Red Army’s Long March and ‘Four Passes Through the Wu’ battle. We first viewed the Scenic Beauty of Moutai River Rock Carvings, located on the northern bank of the Chashui River, the three characters are written in red, just like embedded in the green mountains, and below is the rushing Chashui River.
These three characters were written by famous calligrapher Shao Hua Zhe, and the area they cover is 4800 square meters. This is the largest rock carving in the world. It is the banks of the Chashui River with beautiful mountains and scenery that creates such world-renowned fragrant Moutai wine.
In Renwei, during this spring, there’s a Tai Chi Garden. We don’t need to go to Aba, Sichuan, or Jiayang Small Train, or Xinjiang Ili Flower Valley, to feel the aroma of rapeseed flowers. In Guizhou in spring, we are giving them the best gift. I envy the children here who can smell the aroma of rapeseed flowers and go to school. Along the way is a pure and pleasant breeze.
Standing on the hilltop is the best viewing point, the countryside fields are so attractive. In this spring, it’s worth relaxing. Renwei, I went to understand the history of Moutai wine, but unexpectedly discovered a treasure, and the scenery is so charming that it makes people yearn for it. I had a literary spring here, a lost rapeseed flower spring, and regained my previous touchy feeling.
Renwei’s Tai Chi Garden is surprising to tourists. In the fields, after the workers have cultivated and planted them carefully, this aerial view effect is shown. The center Tai Chi eight diagrams are particularly clear. The garden is very humane, setting up two viewing platforms above and below. The upper viewing platform is higher and can overlook the Tai Chi Garden, and the Tai Chi Garden is constructed meticulously with various plants outlining an eight-character pattern. The entire Tai Chi Garden is built using flowers, trees and small paths.
Here, the famous Moutai wine enjoys a world-renowned reputation. We follow the aroma of wine to Moutai Town. Renwei, this magical place has so many beautiful wines, such as hundreds-year-old Hu Tu wine, National Wine, and truly a place of production for beautiful wines. Gently scoop a small spoonful to taste, like me, with poor wine tolerance, shake shake home. In the distance, the sound of a young man pulling me back to reality, and then see my side these wine jars, full of admiration, every industry has its own secrets, not achieved in one or two days. In this room, the light is very dark, and there are traces of people walking for a long time on the floor. This is the history that has passed, and it is also the sedimentation.
It is possible to achieve a world-renowned wine, in the production and sales of every link are strictly regulated. You can see male workers’ figures in the wine factory’s production and brewing, their educational level is all above the undergraduate level. Moutai wine has a lot of scrutiny methods, it needs skilled brewing masters, they will adjust the production method according to the changes in temperature and environment, workers use shovels and smoke.
Starting from the Western Zhou Dynasty, the people of Renwei have been passed down from generation to generation with their own hands to the present. The core is patience and perseverance. But is my original intention still there? Such a place for relaxation is worth experiencing for more people.
